Comparison of Old(SN2~2014) & New(DDR A) scoring system.

(※ is expectation)
we can guess that
Old AA→just renamed as AA+
Old A→just renamed as AA on

I like newer one, because it's for newbie players.

Not a fan. It'll probably grow on me though.

They sure nerfed the crap out of the new ranking system. So what used to be an upper-tier "B" on
or
is now a "AA-"?
I'm missing the days when a "AA" rank required a Full Combo (Greats or higher) or 93%+ Perfect/Marvelous Attack (depending on mix) ; When a "AA" rank actually meant something.

I dunno, I might be in the minority, but I'm not a fan of this ranking system. Getting an AA has symbolized mastering a chart to a somewhat high degree, and now that a mere 900k can get you an AA, that meaning has faded (especially given that greats and goods are now worth more points). I guess you could make the counterargument that this is similar to when they changed AAA to mean 990k+ in SN2 instead of PFC, but at least for that we got the special "perfect full combo" text as well as the laser splash starting with X, which more than compensated.
Love the new direction of the interface though. It's very nice to see they're putting a lot of effort into DDR A since it's showing they actually care for DDR and won't let it die in the near future.

The new interface seems very akin to Sound Voltex, and looks sleek. However, it does look a bit confusing at first, but maybe once we get some live glimpses of it in action, it'll make more sense.
As for the scoring system, I'm glad they've given it an overhaul, but like everything else that gets updated, it's just going to take a little bit to get used to. It's a step in the right direction, if you ask me.

Agreed. The song selection screen in particular looks like people just went "How can we make this look as cluttered as possible?" What the actual fuck.

I think that there's no reason to complain about AA's meaning nothing, since AA+ is literally the exact same thing as an old AA.
As for the song select, it's pretty but it's gonna have the same problem I had the one time I played jubeat, where I couldn't find anything in time. I'd love it if they just went back to the old SS style where you just scroll up and down and find stuff super easy because you can see a lot at once.

No news on any additional previous songs, or a location test, or a release?
More news about that excluding the release date planned should be in the next few BEnama streams. There's something planned for it that is actually pretty awesome

back in my day a AA was 8.5 mil. Now you have full combo markers I'm fairly indifferent about the grade boundaries, but I do like that there are more of them, if only because more grades is a better sense of progression on the harder songs. Rising through the grades feels better than being stuck on an A for ages.

The new UI is much better than the cover flow. Still miss the song wheel though
It's certainly easy to get an A on a song now, jeez. Maybe that's best for casual players though since songs in general are getting harder.

Brand new interface.

Oooh... I like that interface. I wonder how it will look on screens with 4:3 aspect ratio, though.
Eh, it's OK. It is similar to Reflec Beat and Jubeat's interfaces. I prefer the X series/DDR 2013 & 2014's interface.

I love this new scoring system! It's more fair IMO!

The scoring system is starting to get similar with how ITG gives out rankings tbh but I do like how the new system is turning out.
As for that interface, It looks pretty decent even though it gives me Happy Sky or DDR X feels. One of these days if i actually get bored with nothing to do, I think I just might do a bit of a mockup with it as well as attempting to recreate the graphic work haha.
Edit: what fonts are used for this interface since I'm not an expert with fonts

The interface kinda reminds me of the Ultramic series, in a way.
*Ultramix, not Ultramic. Damn iPad on-screen keyboard.

That UI looks rather jumbled in my opinion.
Unless the cabinet came with an analog stick so you could navigate it like Destiny, it feels like it might be a little tricky? Unless it makes more sense in motion.

I'm guessing you can just use a d-pad, left to right to select a song and up and down to select difficulty.
On the topic of the scoring system, I'm OK with it.

DDR A is most likely going to be on the white and black X cabinets, which will take advantage of the 5 selection buttons on the cabinet. Assuming songs can be selected up and down, this would make song selection go faster on those machines. Better than holding down left or right to scroll through a lot of songs.
I'm going to miss the cover flow; however, I'm surprised the older BEMANI games haven't adopted this style interface considering they have hundreds of songs.

I'm sorry, but how can you be sure of this? It sounds oddly specific.
