Wuaaaah! I'm just finding out about the beatmaniaIIDX INFINITAS massive update being released! It's about damned time, that new interface actually looks several orders of magnitude better than ever before! I'm surprised to see such effort put into this by Konami (maybe they took the words from my Project Hope site [Past and Future section] to heart, lol). Now I finally can give beatmaniaIIDX INFINITAS recognition as a plausible addition to the beatmaniaIIDX CS line. Now, after 5 years, I'm finally thinking about seriously investing into INFINITAS for the first time.

You should have invested in this a long time ago when this came out, because E-amuse cloud games are all we're gonna get as far as CS going forward anymore. Konami's been financially struggling over the past few years and CS just isn't gonna be the way it used to be anymore. It's at least something and the songlist keeps growing and it's nice to see them pay attention to something as far as a home release of any kind. It's a pain in the ass to get this running outside Japan, but it's not impossible, you've had your wihes granted for a while, you should have been paying attention.

Being able to pay for Paseli with your own credit card helps A LOT. That's how I got my subscription. Had they kept the limit on only paying with a Japanese credit card/bitcash, I don't think I would have subscribed. >>

Wow ego much?
Also INFINITAS had a puny songlist for the first year or two of its run unless you liked spending thousands of yen every couple of months for song packs on TOP of 1600 or so for a monthly game.
I don't blame most people not getting around to INFINITAS until Konami let you finally use international credit cards. The hoops to jump through prior were incredibly annoying.

It's not even an ego I'm stating the obvious, Infinitas has been around for a while and it technically counts as a new CS game. Trip has been clambering for a new CS game for years and now he got one, it's just telling it like it is. Despite the initial setlist and how hard it was to get running outside japan, it's still something. And as far as Konami's financial troubles, also stating the obvious, I don't really care at all honestly they can go bankrupt for all I care, just another statement.

Was there ever a decent or up to date guide on getting started with it? I've only found really old guides for it and i've been curious about trying it out!

Aside from Bemanistyle, no.
It took me FOREVER to get INFINITAS to work, because I needed to find very specific files to get it to work. It took me over SEVEN HOURS to find them.

You can pay with any card that supports transactions with foreign currency (KONAMI lifted the ban last year). Also, you can subscribe using card payment directly without PASELI.

If you have a KONAMI ID with (virtual) e-amusement pass bound, just head to the official site and download the new installer. The game shortcut now opens a login page and you can start the launcher there. Clicking the first blue button starts the trial game launcher and the second one leads to the main game launcher. Then you can start the game from the new launcher as before.

Haven’t seen it posted anywhere yet so hope I’m not reposting, but it looks like a new ASC model is coming.

It's beautiful but 80,000 yen? No thanks lol, plus the exclusivity to Konamistyle will make importing this thing impossible without third party methods which will cost even more. I'll stick with my Dao.

Yeah, $800 is a very hard sell, and I'm assuming that's not even counting any import fees from third-party sellers. You can buy a fully-loaded Phoenixwan with SANWA buttons/EMP turntable/etc. for much cheaper, and those can be shipped to anywhere in the world. >>
It looks cool, and the footprint is smaller than a Phoenixwan, but there's a lot more worthwhile things you can buy with that kind of money, like an HTC Vive. >>

Honestly looking at this thing, you'd only go in on this thing if you're really into the Lightning model asthetic because it's probably the same as the first infinitas controller and right now that one is shooting towards almost a grand as well over at Yahoo Auctions. And yeah I'm getting a fully loaded arcade spec Phoenixwan very soon and it's gonna cost WAY less than these controllers.

I actually have the US storeroom Phoenixwan that you get for $280, with the normal DAO buttons/silicone turntable; the buttons feel very close to the AC versions, and the turntable doesn't feel too bad, granted you make sure you get rid of the dust on it every couple days. Hopefully replacing the turntable/buttons won't be too much of a pain, should I ever get SANWAs/EMPs. Either way, it's well worth the money!

That's good to know. I decided I'm going all in with the Sanwa and omron's as the extra money will be worth it for arcade spec and longevity. The dao buttons and honeywells are cheap but they don't last as long as the arcade buttons and switches, I've always gone that route with my Dao's because of this.. As for replacements I think Dao offers tons of replacements to fix worn down controllers.

It's been a while since I last saw the official beatmaniaIIDX INFINITAS site, and I must say that it looks even more dedicated now than ever before. Although I still haven't subscribed for the service since it initial launch in 2015, I will continue to hope that someday Konami miraculously decides to add an offline option. At that point, I'd finally be willing to dish out $2000+ USD for everything.

Custom BGM music is now a thing! You can change the default to the BGM music from Sirius to Cannon Ballers for $5 a pop.
