Honestly, I wouldn't get your hopes up TOO high as I'm sure he's been quite kind with the word "famous". I would be very surprised if the artist he's working with is any more famous than the other acts he's worked with on DDR (SMiLE.dk, SHANADOO)

Knowing Konami's obsession with Natasha Bedingfield, perhaps she may be the collab.
Otherwise, dibs on Jessie J or Adele. Heck, even V.V. Brown since her song "Crying Blood" was on Just Dance 2.

Am I the only one who thinks that this has SO much potential if NAOKI collaborated with an artist that could potentially contribute some good music to DDR like the aforementioned Lady Gaga or V.V.Brown?

I think Gaga's a little busy collaborating with artists like Cher to be working with people on NAOKI's level of fame.

EDIT: The more I think of it, the more Natasha Bedingfield actually makes...kinda sense. She was popular in the US/UK at one time, and though just a few years ago you couldn't turn a radio on without hearing Unwritten or Pocketful of Sunshine, her latest album has only sold around 30,000 copies and neither of the singles from that album did anything. It was would also explain why they included Strip Me on the game (the song peaked at 103 on the US Billboard Chart, and all her other songs included in DDR have been top 20 hits.)

Well, Gaga does like to go underground and find little-known artists to work with, I think if NAOKI scored a collab with Gaga, they would be whoring it out rather than trying to make it secretive. "DDR II: Featuring an exclusive new song by Lady Gaga that can ONLY be heard on this game!". I'd preorder the shit out of that.

NAOKI (and the info page) have seemed to emphasize that the artist used to be famous. The information page says "historically famous" and NAOKI said that they were popular in the US and Europe.

They ARE listed as being in the game however, they are done and over so I doubt it's them.

A NAOKI and Gaga collab sounds too good to be true. @A@; I won't get my hopes up too much. Another ballad would be nice, though...

That was my first inkling as well, but what artists from Dancemania are still around? The only prominent one I can think of that's still releasing music is SMiLE.dk. Me & My and S&K were both staging comebacks (in fact, S&K was saying they were gonna do a song with SMiLE.dk, but nothing ever came out of it) but they never really did. I know SMiLE.dk is coming out with a new album soon...I actually thought the project was on hiatus because there's been no news on it for a very long time, but they just tweeted that their new single is being released soon, so I guess it's almost done.

I doubt they'd be hyping another SMiLE.dk collab though.
