That's what I've been doing. I only have PS2 pads and haven't gotten around to buying a proper adapter yet
However, when you review with keyboard controls, try to play index, instead of spread, to get the "pad feeling".

I don't play with a spread layout, I use the arrow keys and play with one hand, but playing on the keyboard makes it a little hard to recognize long, drawn-out spins or when there's too many spins.

I may do some judging though, since I can recognize most of those to an extent when playing on keyboard.

Try to play index like telperion says. Index is more similar to pad-playing than one hand or spread.

If you have Stepmania 3.9 Plus, you can use player-side Autoplay to play one difficulty while watching another with your peripheral vision. Or, you could just watch with Autoplay altogether and visualize stepping, which I find to be an easier way to catch spins.

Also, I haven't been voting in the weeks I haven't submitted files. It just seems fair since nobody would be voting for me.

Before I continue: I stand by my opinion that the parts of the song I'd play on a solo instrument (e.g. piano) shouldn't be the ones stepped for the feet. Some of these sims will receive a note to that effect.

>> Good, but kind of generic. Also, watch that top-right bias. I don't really care for this song, either, in the same way that EXTREME 2 CS was a bit painful - too much fast.

>> The usual: copypasta. I'd even feel more comfortable if it was a copypasta up, not down. But no. Also, those aren't 24ths, and I don't like 24th streams anyhow The freezes in the middle and surrounding measures were nice, though.

Random stuff :

The 64th on Spining arround was fun.

Konata zone is not my favorite zone but a good one. The chart could have been a bit better with laggy part and stuff.
Also MEH at the bpm at the end. That was useless. Like a lot of DDR's boss song (888/Max Period).

MEH also at the bpm of Paranoia Kcet. And in which world it's an 12 ? That's harder than a 12 on x-scale and really too easy for an old scale.

Digital Abyss was great, but few steps are missing for me. Rolls or few other steps add could have been great (or laggy bpm trick i don't know).
I was sad because with that it could have been my 1st or 2nd.
The file itself is good, but i was disapointed so this file went 4th

>> S-Oni: Feels good. I really wanted the steps to be good, because this track is awesome, and I was not disappointed. I'm not sure those are 16ths, but I can't tell, so we'll go with it. The jumps are a bit awkward.

>> S-Heavy: I think I like this chart slightly more than the other submission. Lots of variety, good rhythms. The freezes were a bit strange, but nothing to worry about.

>> D-Heavy: Very nice. A bit constrained, not enough face-somewhere-besides-forward, but the rhythms make up for it. Feels more like some 8's I know, rather than a 9.
>> D-Std: I like it - really relaxing. It's a low 7, but still a 7 nonetheless. I'd play it on a cooldown sequence.

Sumidagawa Natsu Koi Uta
>> S-Heavy: Haha, that was cool. I liked the face-left. There's a couple awkward spots in this chart, but overall it's quite enjoyable.
>> S-Std: This is the chart I would play. Very coherent, good step placement, great rhythms. However, it's a 7 in the sense that CURUS is a 7, I think.

Vairocana
>> S-Heavy: I like this. A lot. I think it's an 11 - those crossovers are death at my level (just breaking 11's). Think NGO S-Oni.
>> S-Std: A little bit weird, but still okay. Definitely an 8; I wouldn't want to throw those trills down a 7-footer player's throat.

War Game
>> S-Oni: I didn't really care for the song, but the charts seem fine. A little too much dependence on streams, I think - slightly overstepped.
>> S-Heavy: This is the proper difficulty level for this song. The chart was plenty interesting enough to avoid letting the sub-100 BPM drag.

>> S-Heavy: Interesting. Tries out some cool patterns that I really enjoyed. I approve.
