They shouldn't have announced a date if it wasn't guaranteed in the first place... Absolute fail.

Precisely this. KONAMI is a business and in the business world, misrepresenting yourself is a major nono. If they meant "the freaky PSN week starting on a Wednesday" they would have said that. The only way to look at it is, they gave us a concrete date for DLC and missed it and have thus provided no explanation though it would easily be within their power to get a rep to post to Facebook or the official site explaining what happened. They have failed to do any of this.

As it stands, we've had a next-gen DDR for over 2 months with less content than games from almost a decade ago.

Maybe this is our fault... I think they are trying to teach us a lesson... "Don't expect anything out of us after buying the game... And even we don't take Cat seriously... Dumb -bleep-..."

At least I got a pad that works on the ps3... :/

It's possible that they're reacting to the PS3's kernal being hacked, and are worried about creating a "DDR r21", by releasing any DLC that we can use as a template for inserting our own "DLC" into the game.

That would explain a lack of explanation.

If they said/announced this, then it would actually be a reasonable explanation for the non-existant DLC and we wouldn't be fighting/arguing about Konami and their lack of motivation for the DDR CS franchise, but...they have said nothing about anything, only that details of the DLC will be out soon...eeehhh -__-

Well, even if that was the case, they could update saying "due to <choose one of: unforeseen circumstances, scheduling conflicts, smallpox contamination at headquarters> the DLC release has been pushed back by X days. We are TERRIBLY OMG SO SO VERY sorry for the inconvenience. PEACE OUT."

:<

Some acknowledgement of the missed date is better than just sitting there silently.

It's just sad to see how much their motivation and consideration for CS has gone down. As mentioned before, if they had their own team of people to release things like this we wouldn't be having any problems and I don't see why they would be afraid of people hacking their DLC to put their own songs in the game when it's released. It's probably going to happen anyway so what's the deal?

Truely and honestly, is a lot of this any different than before? The CS games before were just ports of the AC version with mixed up song lists and so-so licenses. It's not like they put a lot of care into most of them as they simply ported over a game. Had DDR X2 been similar to this game, people would have a different opinion about it. The DLC is inexcusable, I'll admit that, but to claim that Konami simply doesn't care about CS DDR anymore is just as stupid as claiming Konami stopped caring about out-of-Japan arcade DDR, when they clearly proved us wrong with DDR X2. This is a new team, a new direction of DDR, it'll take a mix or two before they figure out what's right.

You're right. I think we got our selves a little too hyped up, but then again who wouldn't after two months of not knowing when it will come.

And this is why it matters. This is why Konami is getting this reaction.

It just angers me that there's no explanation at all. Things happen and we all would understand that

A business will never purposely make decisions that puts them out of business. This is a basic economic rule. And thus, Konami is not purposely driving DDR down the toilet. You have developers who are foreign to America who are trying to develop a game, which they probably don't play on the same level as hardcore players do, to the tastes of what they think we want, vs us asking for what we THINK we want vs what we actually want. They took a big risk with this version of DDR and they're suffering for it now, it's not because they blatantly "don't care". Yes, the communication between DDR's PR guys and the community is pretty stale, and I don't condone what they've been doing, but I don't think that Konami is over in Japanland sticking their noses at us because we're inferior to their homeland market.

Point is, raging about it and claiming the company is out to ruin your experience is completely crazy. Game companies flop sometimes, they flopped big time with PS3 DDR. With the joy of the interwebs and facebook, our voices are being heard and I will bet my first born child on the fact that next year's DDR will not be the same because of the outcry we've given.

Couldn't have said it better. Now I feel better. Thanks.

When the graphics were ripped from the PS3 disc, was there any separate artwork for the different versions of New York EVOLVED like on the Wii disc and was there any artwork for TO DA JAM?

Well that sucks. I guess we'll never get those on the music wheel unless Konami patches it which most likely won't happen.

Yeah that hasn't happened for any other game so I doubt it will happen in this one...

As much as I still think this is far more Sony's fault than Konami's, I guess that's not important at this point... somebody screwed up, and an explanation is needed. The excessively generic responses to requests for information are infuriating. I hope it's because someone is scrambling to figure out what happened, and not because they done effed up and are trying to cover for it.

I guess I should be happy I haven't bothered to buy the game yet?

Same here. I was waiting for this so-called DLC to see what it would offer and then decide whether to get the game or not.

Oh boy.

I feel like this is the biggest nail in the coffin yet for the series in this part of the world.

A DLC release date goof is the biggest nail yet, and not increasingly poor song choices and mediocre-at-best stepcharts for region-exclusive songs?

I'm confused... Neutral
