Actually quite like that new interface. I thought they were just gonna reuse the Cover Flow interface, so this is a nice surprise.

Wow, I'm really digging the new interface! I also really like that sorting by level appears to show songs of all difficulties because it kinda bugged me that DDR didn't do that when every other bemani game to sort by difficulty did.

Oh. Now I understand. I totally forgot even though there's an X2 at the GameWorks in Seattle. I guess I only have me not going there often to blame. Thanks for the reminder.Post #469 · Posted at 2016-03-23 01:57:05pm 9.2 years ago
Bemani really likes this type of interface. It gives me vibes of the VOLZZA interface without the air thing in the background.

It doesn't devalue AA's, it just makes them AA+'s...although goods and greats do kind of devalue everything now, don't they?featuring plus/minus ratings and devalued AA's because WHY NOT

I think goods should have been counted towards your grade to begin with to be honest. When I was starting out DDR again on AC EXTREME, I always found it funny when I wouldn't make any misses but I'd still end up with a C or a D because I didn't have enough perfects. One thing of note, is that they mention on the 2014 side of the grading comparison EXPERT, and not on the DDR A side. Does that mean the grading is consistent with every difficulty?
Also, I'm curious what it says underneath the keypads on the song select image. Is it even possible to translate that? It's pretty dang hard to discern any characters from it.

Wish the screens weren't so tiny, want to see the new interface in all its detail! Looks very interesting, quite a shakeup. It makes me glad actually, figured we'd just get a minor interface update, shows that real effort's being put in here. Especially with adjusting scoring and grading as well.
No news on any additional previous songs, or a location test, or a release?

I'm actually glad they aren't giving out more songs at this point. It would just spoil the hype for the release.

I wonder if they lowered the grade requirements and increased the scoring of Greats and Goods because they're planning on increasing the overall song difficulty, so they wanted to make getting higher grades (aside from AAA) easier to compensate. Purely hypothesizing, but it would be interesting to see.

Oooh... I like that interface. I wonder how it will look on screens with 4:3 aspect ratio, though.

I was wondering why they cheesed out the AAs so much; there's a theory. I like they addedcute little symbols so you sort of have something that translates to the old grading system for old people. Even if note-level grading has been simplified greatly.Yergggh, I have no desire to scroll through giant icons like in other newish rhythm games. I'd rather go way back to song titles with itty bitty banners. xP Kind of got used to the X2 covers because everything was lined together, but this has your eyes darting across the screen, at least in three columns/rows, depending on how it scrolls. But if I'm the minority, it's a smart move.

Also, adding AA+ and AA- as grades? That's definitely giving me In the Groove vibes, since ITG had every grade that wasn't a star or better use a plus, a minus, or nothing depending on how well you did.

This sure is rocking the cyber look! I love that you can sort by foot ratings now with every difficulty at once. I also like how they seem to have lacked both the genre/sort options and the game series folders into one screen. That's very convenient for those that aren't aware of sorting options!
One thing I hope doesn't happen is that if this comes out on standard res cabinets it doesn't suffer Hottest Party 3 syndrome, where scrolling through songs isn't centered and you end up going through songs one by one with the cursor at the first or last song on screen... I hope you can understand what I mean.

I like where you're going with that thought, but I think the actual intention was just to copy Jubeat, Rb, and SDVX. Unless you think Jubeat (the originator) is similar to Dance Maniax, then sure.I also like the look, but I'm not really being objective about it.

While they're changing the scoring I wish they had made marvs less ambiguous. I dislike how a 375/35/1 green full combo still fails to update a 331/80 score. PNM, IIDX, and Rb all get this right. (So, every other game with a marvelous window.) And actually, that's why the letter grade thresholds are so low in those games. In IIDX an A is 66% and a AAA is 88%. In Rb a AAA is just 90%.
