I've watched that video, like, five times, and I still don't quite get what the difference is between the Expert and Challenge charts. .__.
The Challenge chart is quantized to the nearest 32nd or 64th, which makes all of the 24ths slightly inaccurate. It's a difference that's almost impossible to notice from looking, especially since DDR's Note arrow skin only differentiates 4ths, 8ths, and 16ths; Everything else shows up as the same color.
IIDX Rank: SP 九段 (7/8)/ DP 七段 (5/8); 1P Side player
SP 11* Clears: 132/150 (88.00%); 12* Clears: 23/96 (23.96%)
Has access to CS 9th-EMP+PB+US, uses extended KOCs.

If you pause the video on the very first set of steps and look at the distance between the first step (red) and the second step (green), you'll notice on Challenge it's closer to the red step. It's the old, broken timing from EXTREME. The difference is very noticeable if you play them. Tongue

Yes? They fixed the Heavy in SN2 and added the old Heavy as Challenge in X2.

They were fixed in both games. SN2 quantized them to 128th notes* while X quantized them to 192nd notes (making them perfect triplets)

* I'm not sure if they actually fixed 24ths in the old songs on SN2, but new songs with 12th notes were quantized to 128ths rather than 64ths.

Bag is not fixed in SN2. It's quantized just like the Extreme chart. The only two songs that were fixed in SN2 were Ballad for You and I'll Make Love to You. X fixed everything else that had improperly quantized triplets, including Bag.

in order for you to really see the difference between both charts. just look for the placement of the green arrows on both charts.

I must've gotten confused with IMLTY, damn Konami for fixing some and not others in SN2. Tongue

while we are on the subject, what was the first engine to feature fixed triplets? i dont know if its just home version timing, but iFUTURELIST on strike felt okay.

It was SuperNOVA2, it was definitely not fixed on STRIKE as SuperNOVA data was still messed up.

All new songs in SN2 I'm 95% sure featured proper 12ths. I'm not sure how you can prove that they were quantized to 128ths (I honestly wouldn't think that DDR's step data would support 128ths since there's no need for it).

Nice EDIT! Big Grin

EDIT: Oh wait.. What's that?
EDIT 2: That's somewhat a Standard-Heavy chart?

I don't think this is an edit. It looks like like the plain difficult/expert chart (maybe). There isn't anything that can make edits for new X2 stuff yet.

It's cool how they did they to celebrate 10 years of Korean people having access to a DDR machine!

We're lucky Pump It Up didn't have Edit Mode, or youtube would have 1000 videos of people dislocating knees, or landing on their heads.
