The Ruins event as a whole was okay, although the crossovers (especially DDR) were unexpected and awesome. The six-artist collabs weren't the best, and the charts were okay IMO. (Did anyone on the staff tell these artists about having too many cooks in the kitchen?) Yes, that includes Cleopatrysm. Although it was the best of the three, just having six artists work on a two-minute song pretty much killed it.

I know right? This whole people with different opinions thing is such a new and revolutionary idea. But thanks for the contributing comment, it was really needed.

Anyway all of The Ruins songs just blend together and I can't even remember what song is what. It's so bland that it's just a giant mess of mediocrity. I will say it is nice that we are at last seeing some new content in DDR and not just crossed over from older games or just new charts. Gives me more hope for the game then before.

Sorry for keeping the off-topic discussion going on, but with so many people here saying all three Ruins song being mediocre, I wonder does not many know about the awesomeness of KHAMEN BREAK's SDVX's [INF] chart here? I thought that chart was very memorable and impressed many people. It's a shame there's small chance of something similar happening on SDVX again.


As for the new U1 song, it's cool but I think I like jubeat's Dopamine more. They should transplant the whole series to DDR.

Cleopatrysm was a cool song and the chart wasn't that bad tho? I don't get why people say 'the chart doesn't fit!!'

What I personally was a bit bugged about Cleopatrysm's chart was that it didn't really feel like a 15 to me at all, but rather a 14. In fact, i my own stepmania where I re-rated every X song and onwards to the old scale, I actually rated that one a 9.

Does the new cabinet support edit data through usb ports? If yes, how we should bring the edits? will konami launch a program like the one for DDR X?

PD: I'm looking a desesperate way to convert USA edit data into European edit data. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I have a feeling that these new songs are for those who fell behind on songs and need more songs to be able to unlock everything.
I could be wrong, since I don't know if you can go back to older song requests from previous days, or if the requests just build up until the next time you play.

The white cabinet does not, the X cabinet and SD upgrades do. Edits can be made using DDR X JP CS on the PS2 and so, you can only make edits for songs that has appeared in Japanese PS1/PS2 DDR games. To play edits on white cabinets, you'll need to save your edits to your eAmusement card. It doesn't look like Konami will make a way to make edits for songs on X2 and above, it seems.

(Also yes, in X2 and early in X3 you could do it with a certain program, but after a certain patch in X3, Konami disabled edits for songs that are not supposed to be edit-able.)


the requests build up. i didn't play at all and when i played, i got that day's daily songs and after i finished that, i get yesterday's daily songs.
