Stepmania will forever let us play AC content at home.
But it just doesn't feel the same, knowing that you're playing a non-legit version of DDR. But SM still gets the job done, not to mention importing ANY song you want.

At the same time. Konami is battling against the likes of Just Dance and Dance Central.
DanceEvolution anybody? Remember that game?

I'm certain PARANOiA Revolution and TRIP MACHINE EVOLUTION will be playable in X3 mode. They have CD jackets, and they wouldn't prevent people from playing it in the actual X3 game mode after full unlock. I also hope the 2ndMIX licenses will join them.
Plus, DDR "ultimate" boss songs have Challenge charts since SuperNOVA. I don't care if you like them or not, it's just how it is. I'd be surprised if these did not, for better or worse.

Dance Evolution (at least in the US) suffered from the same problem that Rock Revolution had in that it was a VERY poor attempt to ride the popularity of the latest dance type games on the market, and unfortunately, really didn't get why those games where so popular. Where Rock Revolution was a bunch of covers (making feel like it was competing with GH1 rather than Rock Band styled games) DE just has a bunch of old Naoki songs thrown in (although not necessarily bad), which arn't going to draw in potential consumers in comparison to more well known songs on Just Dance and Dance Central.
On an unrelated note, am I the only one who thinks Rock Revolution would have been more successful if it focused on GF/DM's jazz catalog?

oops, because I was putting that in meme form, I failed to fine-tune the statement.
Challenge charts are okay (if done right) but they don't have to be OMG tHiS IS oUR 20 FOOTERZ LOLOLOL!!11!1!11!
I mean, look at the gap between 18s and 19s. Some people have already PFCed 18s, yet still struggle to get AAA (or even AA) on the 19s. Now you want 20s.

PARANOiA Revolution got an arrow freeze on the stepchart. So, these two new songs would be added later on X3 mode.
Look at the names, "EVOLUTIONARY "and "REVOLUTIONARY".
NAOKI and jun anyone?

I don't really see "Love is the Power" at all in the jacket closeup. Since none of the other 2ndMIX OST bonus songs have appeared in any form here, if it is Love is the Power, I'd bet it's not a mix we've heard. But the text is really, really unclear.

Very clever of them to have these songs as 2nd mix only (at the moment), it truly makes the game live up to it's "vs." theme. Also, way to screw around with new era players, where are your precious speed mods now?!?!

"Charlie isn't real" |
....you know, a benefit to not having a DDR CS game this year?
The next version of DDR will be completely unexpected, whether or not it will ever be released in the US in arcade form (which i doubt but it's always good to dream), I would say about 85% of the next arcade version will have completely new content we've never seen, heard, or played before.
Besides, with DDR II we jumped way too ahead of the curb in Japan, and this was going on since...DDR SN2/DDR X US CS? I think Japan is done with recycling old content from the older games (unless they now dive into the older Universe/Ultramix games as well as HP2 and HP1 games) so X4 vs. 3rdMIX/someMIX/my left nipple is probably going to be a breath of "fresh" air for the series if this doesn't make it the "last" DDR game ever (and when I mean ever, by a span of about 4 years until we get DDR SUPREMENOVA)
Good thing that X3 is finishing off with a good nostalgic twist to it, very pleased with what I am seeing thus far

I think that at least Paranoia Revolution should get a proper/unique challenge chart that's not a mix of all boss songs steps.

When I see a chart like those on Heavy, I'm usually thinking, "Man, I wish THIS was the Challenge chart." I was so disappointed when the only Replicant songs that got Challenge charts were the ones that already pretty much had them on Heavy. :/ We need more 14s, 15s, and 16s, not 17s, 18s, and god forbid another 19 or a 20.

I'd rather that DDR cater to people who actually want to be able to play all of the content. As it is, there's few good bridges to songs in the 17 or 18 range. The difficulty just spikes hard and there's almost no songs to get you up to there. Has anyone that's good enough to beat and do well at Fascination MAXX gotten to that point with ONLY official DDR charts? I'm sure there's maybe a few, but most players have gotten outside help from Edits or simulators or ITG. What's the point of having insanely difficult stuff if the game doesn't prepare the player for it? I've fallen away from DDR a lot lately, and at my peak I only could consistently beat the Extreme era boss songs (not counting Paranoia Survivor Max Challenge), and still only on good days. How is someone like me supposed to jump to 17s when the jump from 13 to 15 is already pretty enormous itself? DDR has seated itself in the range of 13 or lower in most songs. It's arguably always followed an easier curve (relatively speaking when you consider every Heavy/Challenge chart). Maybe if there were more 14s and 15s on Heavy that have extreme Challenge charts, I'd be okay with it, but there need to be more of those 14s and 15s in the first place.

The Heavy charts are just fine and should not have challenge steps... This is why they will have challenge steps.
