huh? Is it a vote for each bracket? Can I freely distribute my points (for example: I vote a file with +3 and I don't vote for another bracket because I don't have enough points)?

You give 1 vote per bracket.

If it's player A vs B and you liked player A's file, it'll be:
player A - 1
player B - 0

If there are 3 people in a bracket and you liked player D's file, it'll be:
player D -1
player E -0
player F-0

You can choose not to vote for a bracket if you wish...

Because top of page (so I could find it again years from now and smack myself):

Good luck to all.

I've left some comments where I felt like there was something particular worth pointing out (no comment doesn't necessarily equal a bad file though!) Nice files all around.

Comments refer to the Heavy or Challenge, whichever is higher (unless otherwise stated)

Closer matchup than I had thought
xRGTMx - 3
CuzcoBlocko - 0
- I'm really happy you kept the 24ths. The spins near the end worked out too; this file is definitely solid, if a little repetitive.
The Legendary DJXYZ - 0
- Chart is okay with me for the most part, the footswitches idea was nice. The poor audio quality was pretty noticeable though.

very close
DDRDAIKENKAI - 2
ddrstepper - 0
- Both of these are good, can't cast a vote here.

darkanine - 2
- No glaring issues from what I could see, but somewhat dull chart.
Quickman - 0
- I personally think that a single bpm would have been fine for this song. The file has some good stuff going, but could use some polishing. In particular, some of the bpm gimmicks are really difficult to read.

Oni-91 - 1
gameboy573 - 2
- I thought some of the slowdowns were a little unfitting and there are a couple bpm gimmicks that create blue note syndrome, but overall, the steps were fun.

Telperion - 0
xXMokou98Xx - 2
- I'm pretty sure I enjoyed Le Petit Prince way more than any of your previous files (that's a compliment, it feels to me like most of your previous files were stepped in a different style from this one). Gj on the gimmicks too, they fit the song great.
hypnoticmarten77 - 1

tsugaru7reveng - 2
Sigrev2 - 1
- Okay charts, both had a few flaws though. Arabian Rave Night only narrowly wins.

Spork! - 3
- Very cool. The mines during the slow sections were a bit of a pain though, since I was already reading at below my normal speed. But yeah, it's really nice to see some more unconventional files like this one. Something felt really weird about the arrow colors though, how there were more colors when the bpm increased, when it's usually the opposite. I'm guessing this was done to lessen the jump in bpm between the sections?
Nezemarth - 0
- Probably one of the more fun charts to this song that I've played.
JunkoXXX - 0

Lisek - 2
Astroman129 - 1

vincentw - 1
- This has the same feel as your Splatoon song, in that I feel that the chart starts off pretty lacking and dull, only to ramp up the difficulty and fun factor the longer into the song you get. Great fun overall.
NuVirus - 1
- Pretty good for the most part, but those 64ths after the stops inched close to vertex^2 territory of hard-to-hit-ness
usaminseijin - 1

Spirit of Nightmare - 2
- Def nothing blatantly bad about this chart, but some crossovers could go a long way to spice the steps up a bit.
Chewi - 0

Gameoson - 2
CLOUDIO - 1

ohaiimian - 1
- Fun chart, would probably get my vote in another matchup.
Aegis - 2
- I like this a lot.

brunobg24 - 2
- This file rooocks
Pandemonium X - 1
Braeden47 - 0

Densetsu.EXE - 1
Loodee - 1

ledgam3r1279 - 1
HealingDMax300 - 2
SupremeX - 0

mf32892 - 0
Feraligatr - 3
- wohoo a more steppable(?) song. Steps are definitely up to par, I think this is an excellent file. Personally though, I got thrown off by the single mines placed together with the crossovers (kept using the same foot twice for some reason), but that might just be me. Really happy to see this file, good stuff.

General tip to people using bpm gimmicks: Consider setting the #DISPLAYBPM:; tag in your .sm file, it avoids having people pick the wrong speed mods when playing. Check Mokou's file out for a good example (it's also a good example for how to do bpm gimmicks in general, so as to avoid blue/yellow note syndrome, as well as making them more readable).

copy paste for future votes:

Don't say I didn't warn you. That's the best audio quality I could get.
Footswitches are always marked by mines. If done correctly there are no doublesteps. I've tested several times.

Also, my votes are going to be mad late. Like Monday at 12AM late. So don't expect anything soon.
Not around here too often anymore, but I still play DDR & maimai!
My final contest run was in my signature so I guess I'll keep it here for those who wanna play my last few charts:

Two reasons actually - a full doubling of the speed would have put the speedups at 340BPM, which is ludicrous for the song. By only utilizing a 1.5x speedup it allowed me to clearly mark where the speedups were with extra color without having to utilize extra mines and not reduce the quality of the file itself by adding in an excessive gimmick [in this case that 340 BPM]. It also gives it more of a unique feel as you mentioned as well.

Everyone brought their A-game this week. I may not have full reviews like during the qualifier, but I'll do my best to look over everything and fairly judge like usual. And Nezemarth - nice Double Challenge. That sudden "only-in-this-chart" BPM boost at the end screwed me over so hard lol

Initially I planned to have this BPM change across all my charts, but after finding it made it harder for me to play, I decided that, rather than make the patterns easier or let it stay unchanged, I would limit it to the challenge chart that presumably most people won't judge. I'm glad you noticed though Smile

In case you haven't noticed, my graphics have an error that displays the artist's name twice instead of once (thanks to vincentw for pointing that out). I hope to fix it when I can, but I also want to make sure; is it allowable to modify the file after submission in this tournament? I noticed this a few times within the Simfile Shuffle, but the Tournament of Immortals might not be so lenient. (If not, I'll make a new post for the updated graphics when they are ready).

I'm still hoping to at least receive one point, but I'm glad that the file isn't received too badly (and apparently one of the more fun versions). My votes will come during the weekend, and I'm not too sure if I can create comments for each of the simfiles.

If I spend an hour or so to make a [..] beautiful standard chart and a fun light chart and it's required for the comp, play it, or at least look it over other wise I don't see the point anymore[.]

Unfortunately, in addition to my bracket, I cannot vote for any of the files in the Junko/Nezemarth/Spork! bracket because I got asked to help with the syncing of Element of Spada and some patterns in it too. I am so sorry. Especially to Spork!, Nezemarth, and JunkoXXX because this effectively makes me involved in their bracket. >.<

Once again, my votes are here, scroll down to find what I thought about your file. They're probably not too helpful but they're something. :P

"representado en stepmaniax"
First off, did I miss the memo that a bunch of us were planning to submit Vocaloid/UTAU songs???? If so I'm requesting that memo for the next time, please and thanks. Tongue Second, really great showing from the competition. I'm actually super shocked every single participant managed to get their file in. Usually I've seen at least one or two matches where someone in the match is unable to meet the deadline, so this is very impressive. And the quality of some of these was unreal! And there were definitely some surprises in there. So far it's not looking great for me against DDRDAIKENKAI (which comes as no surprise really; that was quite the file... o_o), but if I manage to continue onto the next round, the competition is definitely going to get tougher. Now I'm really excited.

Hey guys, guess what? I stopped being lazy and actually wrote comments about every single file this time.
BRACKET 1

Chance It [CuzcoBlocko]
SONG: I didn't like this song when I first heard it back in Simfile Shuffle 2015. Much to my surprise I still don't like it.
STEPS: I think you got a little carried away with the jumps on Heavy, and the short 16th stream was pretty out of place compared to the rest of the chart, but it was overall a very nicely structured file. Challenge was better, but I think you missed stepping some of the lyrics during that rap part. Very good effort on both charts though!

Enigma Machine [xRGTMx]
SONG: Dream Theater <3
STEPS: The file's very well structured for the most part, but I can't get over the fact that you seemed to be intentionally "dumbing down" the file at times. There's times where the song probably should have been stepped with a steady stream of 16ths, but instead the 16ths are broken up arbitrarily and I can't always tell why the 16ths stopped. It's actually a little bit jarring. The file is still very good as it is, but I think it could have been way better if you didn't hold back.

Ocean Avenue [The Legendary DJXYZ]
SONG: If you ask me this song hasn't aged well… Heck, I thought it was pretty meh back in the mid 2000's, too. Poor audio quality isn't helping either (I'm 100% positive there has to be better audio quality out there). I can hear a pretty obvious clip in the music where you made your song cut, too.
STEPS: Heavy definitely could have followed the song a bit better, although I probably would have cut out some of those 16th streams. It's a pretty big jump in difficulty and feels out of place with the rest of the chart (it clearly goes to the drums, but like I said it's such a jump in difficulty). Challenge gets really iffy with footswitches and rolls that feel like they were shoehorned in for the sake of having footswitches and rolls rather than trying to accent the music. The rolls going to the fast 16th drums are fine though, and to be honest I think you should have done that on the Heavy chart in the first place.

WINNER: xRGTMx
This was insanely close between xRGTMx and CuzcoBlocko since the stepcharts were both about equal IMO. Unfortunately for Cuzco, I prefer Dream Theater over Ryu* knockoffs. Sorry. Cry

BRACKET 2

De El Mi [ddrstepper]
SONG: Why do Armenian pop songs sound way cooler than American pop songs? This is GOOD.
STEPS: The ending of Heavy has quite an unexpected difficulty spike! Fun chart though, and Challenge was even more fun!
BONUS: I played one of your first draft charts; Not all of them unfortunately, SM5 doesn't seem to like it when a song has multiple Edit charts and I didn't feel like separating each individual chart one at a time just to play all three, so I only played one of them. All I have to say is thank you for getting rid of the 16th minijacks during the speed-up, those sucked.

Dream Position ~Theme of Chun-Li~ [DDRDAIKENKAI]
SONG: It's okay I guess.
STEPS: It's not as good as Sing, but it's still a very good file.

WINNER: ddrstepper
Very close call, but in the end ddrstepper just barely came out on top.

BRACKET 3

PARANOiA CLiMAX [darkanine]
SONG: Very underwhelming remix of PARANOiA. Even more underwhelming that it doesn't resemble TRIP MACHINE CLIMAX like I hoped it would.
STEPS: They're… okay, I guess. I think this is more of a result of the song not being that steppable IMO.

Violent [Quickman]
SONG: It really didn't appeal to me at all.
STEPS: I really didn't like the BPM gimmicks at all. I don't think they really complemented the song and instead they just felt there to force players to read some really squished up arrows. The steps themselves ranged from being just okay to being overstepped, so even when I played again with a cmod I didn't enjoy this file.
...and THEN I noticed somehow Standard actually had a lot more notes than Heavy. Normally I don't look at anything lower than Heavy; presumably if your main Heavy and Challenge charts are good, your lower difficulties should be just fine. But out of curiosity I played Standard as well... and wow that was bad. Almost the entirety of the first 100 notes is nonstop copy & paste, and so many other parts of the file just felt really bland or really overstepped. Heck, I'd say it was even more overstepped than Heavy! To be fair, I did only take Heavy into consideration when I made my final votes since I didn't look at anyone else's Standard charts, but wow I thought was Standard really bad.

WINNER: darkanine
I wasn't all that crazy about either of these two files, but of these two I'd say PARANOiA CLiMAX was much better.

BRACKET 4

FIRE FIREは電気スウィングの夢を見るか? [Oni-91]
SONG: You had me at "Electro Swing".
STEPS: Stepping swing with 16ths is admittedly a little weird, but at this tempo most 16ths actually feel alright. There's still a few that are a bit off, but whatever, I still like this quite a bit. Maybe during Summer Contest I'll take a stab at stepping this song with proper swing notes.

蟲の棲む処 [gameboy573]
SONG: Not bad, but really not my favorite Camellia song.
STEPS: This song and CAND¥¥¥LAND should form a club called the "We're Rated 9's But We're Really More Like 10's Club". That ending is pretty damn brutal for a 9! Anyways, the steps are good, but unfortunately you got paired against a really good file.

WINNER: Oni-91
Allow me to repeat myself: You had me at "Electro Swing". Combine that with some really really fun steps and of course I had to go with the FIRE FIRE remix.

BRACKET 5

Crepuscular Rays [Telperion]
SONG: Cool song.
STEPS: What's with the dummy mine at the end of the Beginner chart? I don't really like having to wait an extra ten seconds just to get to the results screen. :/ The steps are otherwise really good as expected.

Gale Rider [hypnoticmarten77]
SONG: Good song.
STEPS: There's some minor double-stepping issues here. It's nothing that can't easily be worked around, but it gets mildly annoying (more so in the first half of Challenge ). The ending of Challenge also felt overstepped at times; I couldn't figure out what some of those 16ths were going to.

Le Petit Prince [xXMokou98Xx]
SONG: Pretty decent.
STEPS: Huh, this shouldn't be too bad- *gets screwed over by the first gimmick* This file isn't really my personal cup of tea, but I can easily see someone else liking it.

WINNER: Telperion
Telperion put out yet another good file as he usually does.

BRACKET 6

Arabian Rave Night [tsugaru7reveng]
SONG: YES.
STEPS: Heavy's pretty good but could have used a bit more polish IMO. Challenge… is a bit overkill.

MANA [AnonyWolf]
SONG: Whatever DJ Yoshitaka was trying to do here, I don't think it worked out all that well. :/
STEPS: "The ending contains a bit of an Easter egg, ehehe…" So I'm guessing this means I'm not going crazy when I say the ending felt a little too much like Healing Vision ~Angelic Mix~. Which, by the way, I think is a bad thing; as much as I enjoy listening to the song I never did care for all the double-stepping in HVAM. That being said, when MANA wasn't trying to be HVAM's ending stream, it was - for the most part - enjoyable. I thought the BPM gimmicks were kinda dumb though. Personally I didn't enjoy some of those quick stops-speedup bits. It works in some files and I've even done it in some of my own files (or in Bangin' Burst's case I practically spammed the damn trick) but here I just didn't like it for some reason.

WINNER: tsugaru7reveng
As flawed as Arabian Rave Night is, I'd say it's the better of these two files.

BRACKET 7

Element of SPADA [JunkoXXX]
SONG: Audio quality sounds a bit bad, or maybe I'm just going crazy. The song itself is good though.
STEPS: Best Junko file to date? Sure I guess, but the steps are still all over the map. Half the time I'm still not sure what it is in the song you're trying to follow. Even though all the patterns work out okay, the rhythms don't add up to anything I can make sense of, especially when you start making up rhythms that don't even exist in the song (such as those 16th gallops).

Energia! [Spork!]
SONG: Ska! It's like a bunch of crows; "SKAAAAAA!" I like this song a lot!
STEPS: The spinning on Heavy was pretty irritating (and sometimes it doesn't spin you all the way around, so there's actually some double-stepping involved), but I did like the rest of the Heavy chart quite a bit. Challenge, on the other hand, had so many nonexistant streams that it just doesn't appeal to me. I get the point was to be a silly tongue-in-cheek chart but for some reason it didn't really click with me even on that level.

Kuusou Mesorogiwi [Nezemarth]
SONG: Tasty.
STEPS: Not so tasty. The file plays well enough for the most part, but then you have a random 16th trill that comes right out of nowhere and some pretty hard to detect BPM changes. (Seriously, without knowing the song already how am I supposed to know where in the 8th stream the song's BPM doubles? There's absolutely no clear indication where this happens.) Really wasn't feeling the hand halfway through either.

WINNER: Spork!
Energia! and Spork! make an Excellent! team of Exclamation Points!

BRACKET 8

Clap Snap [Astroman129]
SONG: Nope. Not for me.
STEPS: Other than the song itself I actually really enjoyed this one.

Ronron e rairairai! [Lisek]
SONG: Too overly cutesy for my tastes.
STEPS: 16th crossovers on Challenge I thought were a bit excessive with this song, but there's not really anything else I can find to complain about.
Other than maybe this pattern from Expert was kinda weird:
http://i.imgur.com/f865qGc.png

WINNER: [Astroman129]

Good effort from both simfile artists, but Astroman came out on top.

BRACKET 9

Photo Shoot [vincentw]
SONG: Good song.
STEPS: Things started out pretty tame, but by the time I got to the end GOOD STUFF. I guess good things really do come to those who wait.

To Make the End of Battle (Ys II Special Version) [usaminseijin]
SONG: Maybe it's just because I heard S.S.H.'s cover of this song first, but I don't like this version as much.
STEPS: Heavy had a couple of wonky patterns at the beginning and end, and the Left-Down-Up-Right-Up-Down-Left stuff that you did a lot of was kinda boring. Otherwise, decent effort. Challenge was less fun; intentional double-steps weren't that good and there were some accidental double-steps as well. I really didn't enjoy those jumps at all.

Shiawase ni Nareru Kakushi Komando ga Arurashii [NuVirus]
SONG: I don't normally mind vocaloid but it always bothered me in this song for some reason.
STEPS: The steps are decent, although I think a little more effort could have been put into the Heavy chart.

WINNER: vincentw
Vincent pretty much won by a landslide here.

BRACKET 10

You Carved Your Name [Spirit of Nightmare]
SONG: The song's okay. It's not something I'd choose to listen to again, but I wouldn't complain if I heard it again either.
STEPS: As it is, it technically isn't a bad file. But a little extra seasoning (whether that means crossovers or footswitches or any other cool stepping technique you can think of) can turn something decent into something great. It's kinda like a hamburger; why just have beef and cheese between a bun when you can add applewood smoked bacon and BBQ sauce?

みんなのうた [chewi]
SONG: Too overly cutesy for my tastes. Hell, it's too cutesy by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu standards if you ask me.
STEPS: And yet, the cutesy steps actually work really well for this song. I really like the call and response gimmick you did with the mines! It reminds me of what Pump It Up did with Ignis Fatuus, but way less extreme.

WINNER: chewi
Simply put, chewi's simfile did more to stand out.

BRACKET 11

Danse de Romani [Gameoson]
SONG: I stepped it so that must mean I hate the song right?
STEPS: A movement made by lifting the foot and setting it down again in a new position, accompanied by a shifting of the weight of the body in the direction of the new position, as in walking, running, or dancing.

GASPANIK [CLOUDIO]
SONG: Hardstyle isn't my favorite genre but it's a pretty decent song.
STEPS: It should also be noted that Hardstyle isn't the most ideal genre for simfiles. It's generally a pretty repetitive genre with not a lot of interesting rhythms to follow, and this song is no exception. That problem I think only gets compounded by the fact that you do a lot of facing left in this file. Personally I felt that the file was okay at best and could stand to face right a little more often.

WINNER: M. Night Shaymalan
Neither of us win! WHAT A TWIST!

BRACKET 12

Sakura Luminance [ohaiimian]
SONG: Not exactly what I'd call my favorite of Ryu*'s Sakura series.
STEPS: Considering what you had to work with in this song, I'd say you did alright. But that huge break during the middle of the song and the repetitive nature of the song do get in the way. Not sure what's up with those 16th triplets in the last quarter of the file; they don't really go to anything.

The Queen [Aegis]
SONG: I don't think M2U has ever made a song I didn't like.
STEPS: The very end of the file has a few really annoying misrhythms, but otherwise solid work.

WINNER: Aegis
The Queen naturally lent itself to a more interesting and fun file than Sakura Luminance.

BRACKET 13

Luvly Merry Go Round [Braeden47]
SONG: I was hoping this song would be a little more like a pleasant merry go round ride. Instead I feel like I just ate a few dozen hot dogs before getting on Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, and now after the ride is over I'm incredibly sick and I have to puke really badly.
So yeah I didn't like the song at all.
STEPS: Heavy shows signs of less "Perpetual Facing Left Syndrome" but still has it from time to time. Barely any double-stepping either. It's an improvement, I can see that. Challenge actually has some nice flowy streams, BUT I'd also argue that sometimes the streams do feel overkill for the song. And then oddly enough, there's some parts of the song that feel super understepped. But like I said, it's an improvement over your previous work, and improvement is always good.

Simmering ZEN Girl [brunobg24]
SONG: Vocaloid done right.
STEPS: GREAT! I feel like Challenge could have been just a little bit better, but as it is it plays amazingly.

罪と罰 [Pandemonium X]
SONG: I liked it.
STEPS: It felt a little on the basic side to me, but by no means a bad file.

WINNER: brunobg24
I believe Bruno just steamrolled the competition.

BRACKET 14

Oshama Scramble! [Densetsu.EXE]
SONG: t+pazolite is usually good. Smile
STEPS: OUCH. Heavy had a whole bunch of sloppy double-stepping! Challenge not as much, but managed to make up for the lower amount of double-steps with what I felt was really unfun use of rolls. Jumps in both charts was really annoying too. Most of the time I felt this file was just trying too hard to be... well, hard. It's a scramble all right, but not in the way I would have liked.

Sweet Devil (colate remix) [Loodee]
SONG: Good song.
STEPS: Nice gimmicks!

WINNER: Loodee
P.S. I'm gonna second what Loodee said about #DISPLAYBPM. There's nothing quite like picking your speedmod based on a top speed of 300 BPM only to find out 99% of the file is 150 BPM.

BRACKET 15

Twinbee's Home Town Song [SupremeX]
SONG: Probably one of Sota Fujimori's weaker songs. I mean, I still like it quite a bit, but it's not groovin' or some other song I may or may not step at some point during the contest this isn't a hint or anything I swear Confused
STEPS: It doesn't feel like all that criticism you received earlier was actually put to use. There's still a LOT of random sloppy double-stepping throughout this entire file. For the most part, you've got rhythm down pretty well. (READ: For the most part. Challenge feels a bit overstepped and those 32nds at the end are most definitely not 32nds. Turn Assist Tick on next time you play it and listen carefully.) You just need to take more care into what patterns you're using.
NOTE: Cuzco's example video on Page 17 has some fairly tricky crossover patterns that I would avoid using until you get the hang of avoiding double-steps. Trying to get fancy too quickly tends to have ugly results and it's easy to get yourself confused.

コスモス [ledgam3r1279]
SONG: The vocals really killed it for me.
STEPS: Steps are pretty good. It's not super amazing or anything, but that's because the song choice really limits what you can do.

Shadows Of Our Past [HealingDMax300]
SONG: I don't like it. I don't hate it either. It's somewhere in the middle of the road.
STEPS: Interesting pattern choice! There's a few ambiguous steps near the end where it's not clear what foot you're supposed to start with, but the "I'm only gonna use three of the four columns" bits were a fun little idea.

WINNER: HealingDMax300
Close call between Ledgam3r1279 and HealingDMax300, but I think Shadows Of Our Past was just a little bit more interesting and fun.

BRACKET 16

Misery Business [mf32892]
SONG: Heh, old Paramore songs. Tongue I like it.
STEPS: I double-checked the BPM; it's 173 on the dot, not 172.95. So the steps gradually become off-beat over the course of the song. Sad I resynced it and played it again, but the file just didn't really stand out that much to me. Not bad by any means but not amazing either.

With Me [Feraligatr]
SONG: If there's anything I've learned to expect from you, it's that we have very different tastes in music and I'm probably not going to like listening to the song you stepped.
STEPS: Fortunately the steps are a lot more interesting than your Qualifier entry. I don't enjoy the song, but it's a heck of a lot more steppable and the end result is pretty good.

WINNER: Feraligatr
Congrats to Feraligatr for completely defying my expectations.

"I thought the BPM gimmicks were kinda dumb though."
you mean the small sections with stops that go with the song? or the quick speedup after the first stop to prevent blue-arrow-syndrome (that doesn't really feel too out of place with that segment if you ask me)? i don't see where there's BPM gimmicks in my file. yer gonna have to elaborate, b0ss, because having stops and BPM changes in appropriate places in a file isn't a gimmick imo.
i'm not grumpy that you didn't vote for me as i thought tsugaru's file was pretty darn good myself and it could go either way. i just don't get people who make comments like this for files like that, especially considering my Qualifier file...

For me personally I just didn't like them. Neutral

EDIT: Yeah, "dumb" was a bad choice of word on my part.

To be fair to Sigrev, Electro Stomp would kinda be harder to memorize than the speedup that happens during MANA... :/

@Gameoson; I'm certain I stepped every single audible word the rapper says. It's unfortunate I spent effort on a kinda meh song but I'm glad I made it enjoyable for you (and maybe others). ^^; There's another song I conspired making a Spork!isque file of but unfortunately the first verse gave me a mindblock and by the time I finished Chance It Challenge I lost interest in that other file. :c

Not bad by any means but not amazing either. (In regards to Misery Business)

Is there anything you (or anyone else) think(s) could've been done to make it "amazing"? The only thing I could potentially come up with is a Challenge chart that somewhat resembles "Somehow You Found Me" with 16ths "going" to the guitars.

I personally thought the Heavy chart was enough and that it was fun to play on pad, but it seems Feraligatr's is more interesting artistically to everyone who's voted so far. I do think it deserves to be recognized, too. I did enjoy it, though some patterns/rhythms might be a little awkward to try to play the 32nds and whatever other quantization that are present.

Maybe I'm treating this tournament too seriously; I'm actually bummed at the lack of votes so far. As it stands right now, it seems I underestimated my opponent like I did last year, and I'm being crushed Sad. Maybe I should've submitted my rendition of Sing? Or something else? Or switched the qualifier and this? I'm worrying too much, aren't I?.

i didn't mention it in my post because i don't do song rankings or honorable mentions for simfile tourneys, but i liked your file a lot, mf. i would've given it a vote. it was neck and neck. don't bring yourself down, cuz ya did good.

@Nezemarth: I think mines would have worked. Dummy mines are usually pretty good for hinting things.

Also good at hinting things: NuVirus's 64ths/192nds (I didn't check in the editor to see what they actually were and both types of notes show up as the same color for me, I think you know what I mean though). I forgot to mention this, but this was a good move on his part.

@mf: DDRDAIKENKAI stepped Misery Business a very long time ago for a pad pack called Ethereal Rising that I'd recommend looking at for some ideas. It's not a perfect file (actually I'd argue it does a couple of pretty dumb things like a 173 BPM 16th minijack; he's come a long way I think Tongue) but there's some good ideas buried in there.

"SOUND VOLTEX -BOOTH-"
This is what I get when I get the feeling that I have to have a chart that's rated a 10 or up considering my opponent. I actually had a few song choices lined up which I thought were better overall, and now that I know what the final product is, I really should have stepped that instead.

I padtested all the charts including Heavy and Challenge so maybe it's more of gratuitous cross-overs more than anything, but please let me know about possible patterning problems so I can learn. (this is probably my first bottom-tier file and it sucks for me because I know I could have done way better)

Side note: Despite me going to obviously lose this round I will still step the other option I had just so I know what that would look like and if that would have stood up better.
