Actually, none of this is Konami's fault. If anything, I think they're only at fault for choosing Betson as their distributor for their arcade games.
Betson is the one who isn't doing diddly squat about unlocks and stuff.
It's really hard to point a solid finger on either Betson and Konami, or even on both.
When you look at the bigger picture, there are little things we can blame each company for. Konami for letting out a leak of the new songs back in the New Jersey location test, and Betson for doing such a crappy job with releasing their stuff and giving us the Japanese initial state.
I've yet to actually write Betson a letter myself about this whole issue. I want to sound aggressive without sounding so abrasive at the same time. (Damn dirty mouth of mine, both in writing and in person)
So... I'm just trying to word out everything right without sounding like a complete asshole.
I know Pie sent them out an e-mail, but he probably hasn't gotten a response back.

Someone should go to their office physically and demand a concrete answer. XD

If they weren't in Texas and were in northern California (SF Bay Area), I would have done that already.

Ah right, there's not that much players down in Texas is there? Most players are on the west and east coasts right?

As far as I know, that's where most of the DDR players are. Then, they're just randomly scattered about in this huge sorta lame country of ours.

So I Guess when contacting Betson is talking to a brick wall or the old saying "goes in one ear and comes out the other"!

I wondered if Konami will still use the lame excuse of "copyright issues" and thus locking those songs.

How is there copyright issues when it's KONAMI's own songs?
Betson is to blame for this. Not KONAMI.

I don't know why it is. It's from a Konami game, and even if it is a classical remix, No.13, Kakumei, etc. all are as well, and they are classed as KOs.

I think it's commissioned like nc.
I really can't see them making a proper license song to be an unlock in the first place though.

Here's where I would have quoted some Dancemania unlocks, but I think 'proper' rules them out...

Has there been a case where licenses get unlocked in ARCADE versions?

Jupiter is actually from an orchestrated set of songs named after planets by Gustav Holst. They are as follows:
Mars, the Bringer of War
Venus, the Bringer of Peace
Mercury, the Winged Messenger
Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity
Saturn, the Bringer of Old Age
Uranus, the Magician
Neptune, the Mystic
In a sense, Jupiter is a licensed song because it was already created by someone. (Much like Kakumei, No.13, and V)
I'm not sure who Pleaides Productions is, though. It might be an orchestra group that Bemani hired to create this song. We'll find out when we get the soundtrack, won't we?
I do count Jupiter as a licensed song not just because it was revived, but also because I think that Pleaides Productions is an outside organization that Bemani hired.
With the case of nc, they made songs strictly for DDR (Seduction, Soul Crash, Malacca) so I don't count his songs as licenses.

What the hell are you talking about?
I'm from Texas, and we have more DDR machines than any other state other than California.
And of course, the people who made ITG hail from this state...
Also, Betson has an office here? Where? Maybe I will go ask them.

Betson offices
Well whaddya know. Betson has an office in San Francisco. 35 minutes away from me. It's time to get answers. XD
Ashura96, there's one in Dallas. We should plot on getting answers! XD
But in all seriousness, I really wonder if I'll get any concrete answer if I do go. Maybe I'll stick to the e-mail I've been thinking of writing.

Eh, I think the e-mail won't do anything. I've e-mailed both Konami and Betson regarding this situation and I've got nothing. I'm guessing that they're keeping a lid on what they plan to do until they do it. Or maybe they aren't do anything and just don't want to answer questions
.
