Also a good idea: it can take several minutes to vote and add the totals, so before you hit the post button, open the thread in a new tab to make sure no one has voted while you were typing your post. This has tripped me up more than once!

BPM: 160

This file I decided to go back to simple basics. Honestly I'm shocked that song has yet to make an apparance in a DDR game yet. I feel if it was in DDR 2013, this is how the chart would be. Anyway like I said this file is me going back to basics and not really trying anything experimental, that will be my next file for this week. Also this is the best qullaty jacket I could find for this song, if anyone has a better version of it, that would be high appreciated

this was a poor life decision
gfx are probably not gonna happen considering i cant find/make a vector of BoB 2002
beginner is never going to happen bc there's now simplifying this song as much as i did in light
i think i pulled rhythms out of my ass 90% of the time in all of these
in conclusion, this theme is ruining my life.

Alright, reviews. As always, I do my best to be nice but it gets hard when there are just so many files xD Overall, this week's files were great. Ratings at the bottom.
1 2 3 ~Koi ga Hajimaru~ - Turny, yes, but the turns, spins, ect. were used very consistently, good job.
Ai wa Katsu- My only complaint is that at some parts felt a little unmatched with the music, like instruments weren’t being consistently followed in the same sections. Other than that this is a nice, easy song.
Babylonia - When I started the song I couldn’t help but notice how well you followed the flute. This unfortunately ended at the slowdown, when many flute notes were missed. It seems like you were trying to simplify the patterns but in my opinion it felt awkward and it would not make the section too difficult if you added them. Missing note at 234.500. Also, I didn’t feel like the beginning needed to be all jumps, just leave the jumps on the harsher notes. Beautiful song choice.
Boku no Chikyuu, Bokura no Chikyuu - I didn’t really notice anything in this that I didn’t particularly like so I don’t have much to say, the slowdown worked well for the song.
Captain Marusa’s Ass Anchor - Honestly this is mostly fine, and I liked most of the jacks. My complaint is at the end. The way this is set up the chart ends abruptly, when with holds you could have finished the fadeout and avoided the awkwardness, since there are maybe a few seconds left in the stream before the track ends.
Chocolate Disco – This is good. I liked it. Thank you.
CHOKOREITO DISUKO – Cool take on the song. I didn’t like the use of jumps that much but the jacks at the beginning are good.
Chumachechaja Vesna – Good patterning, this looks fun.
Communication – Missing tap at 67.500 I think, and I’m not sure if 95.500 belongs there, ect. I wish that you had included the 16ths present in the song, it would make it a more interesting chart to play imo.
Dakishimeru – Uhm good use of 64ths I liked.
Gattenda!! – What on Earth… Overall this looks fine, and your hold usage is good. Personally I would start putting 16ths down at 82.500 and leaving them until 84.000 though, that part bothered me somewhat. Great creativity.
Hatsune Miku’s Head Exercises – Move 143.750 down to 144.250 and PLEASE remove the #DISPLAYBPM tag TT.TT Your patterning needs a bit of work, you seemed to randomly use repeating patterns (such as RURU, ect) and sometimes these went for an uncomfortably long period of time. Your steps do a good job of reflecting changes in the music though, I liked that.
Inbijiburu – Most of this is really good, but I’m really not a fan of the sudden BPM changes, especially not the 700BPM+ speedup that has notes immediately at the end of it .-.
Invader Invader – Honestly there are two big problems with this chart: double-stepping and arrow placement. I’m not saying that all double-stepping is bad, but this chart had it repeatedly and this lead to some awkwardness, especially when the doublesteppping needed to be resolved on jumps. As for the placement, there are a lot of missed notes or parts where the notes didn’t match the music as well as they could, such as the arguably missing tap on 39.500 >.<
Invader Invader – Videos like these are the stuff of nightmares. Anywho… there’s one thing that really does puzzle me, and that’s why you placed as many jumps as you did. You put them on notes that needed emphasis but a lot of those I think would make much more sense as holds, such as on the sustained vocals. This is good but I think it might flow better with holds in place of many of the jumps.
JOUSOU DYSTOPIA - :fantastic:
Kagachi – Great presentation, but the steps need a bit of work. I think that you did fine when it came to patching the music, but that the actual movement involved involved lots of awkward crossovers and doublesteps. Try to go a bit easy on the complicated movement, unless that was actually your intention with this song which I would understand given what it is. Uhm other than that I enjoyed this, though I think that the step at 72.000 should be removed because there’s no step at 64.000
Kanon – The freezes used as accents were very good, but many freezes in the chart cut out and beat early which was kinda weird. As for the other steps, I’m not really sure. It felt like a lot of things that could have been stepped were missing but then again this song is a mess so I’m not sure what you could have done to avoid making this a 12. Yeah.
Katayoku no Tori – I actually liked this a lot, it looks good and really goes with the music. Nice gfx too.
Kimi noHeart ni Lock On – You did a great job matching the music, especially when you followed the percussion in the beginning. There were some times, however, when you faced the same direction for a long time or focused on one direction more than the other. This happened with both left and right-facing steps but none of them went on for like, many measures or anything so it’s not a big deal.
Kusare Gedou to Chocolate - This is not a 15, it’s more like a 13 given how short the streams are. You have a left-facing bias toward steps, where you face left for an extended period of time, have 3 right-facing steps, and face left again. Pay close attention to when you’re facing what-direction. Other than that, this isn’t something that I would have expected a footspeed chart out of. The patterns were generally rather fair, though some drills got kinda awkward. This will still be a good chart to practice 260 BPM on though, neat.
Madotsuki in Wonderland – Well, I’m not sure what else to expect from this song, creative BPM changes.
MIKENEKO ROCK – This is good. I kinda wish that you had stepped the 12ths in guitar when they were present but nonetheless this is enjoyable.
Milkshake – Excellent patterning, padding this.
Nippon Egao Hyakkei – You used crossovers well, your jacks were appropriate, you actually stepped the 16ths, ect. ect. I found no problems and I really like this.
Magus Night - If you’re going to step 45.833 shouldn't you step 51.833 as well? Also, 104.000 doesn’t seem to go to anything? Other than that good job for keeping your focus on the complicated rhythms in the song, and you have nice patterning.
Point, Line, Surface, Solid – Good gimmicks, lol at the graphics. I like all of the little accents that you included in the chart, this is something that I would play.
Ryuu to shoujo to decoherence - Many off beats should be a 16th later than they currently are, such as 73.500 which should be on 73.750. I’m also not at all sure what you were trying to do with the notes between M41-M65, many of which either didn’t really go to the music the way that the other notes did, or which were simplified in confusing ways. Holy shit at everything else, this is great.
Sea of Frozen Crystals – This is a cute chart, nothing in particular bothered me and the notes flow well with the music.
Seijin no tou – Neat crossovers, good patterning, ect. The jacks midway through were good, still deciding how I feel about the jacks at the end. Thank you for including some 16ths in this, it made the chart more interesting for sure.
Sekai no baransuwotoru - I think that this file looks pretty good, you followed the music just fine so I have don’t have anything to complain about but here are some recommendations:
- Put jumps on crashes that are not following a 16th, such as one 288.000
- Change that drill on 275.000 and swap the Us and Rs so it’s not a crossover :T
- This one is kinda the most subjective but on 164.000 and the following notes you use the same directions on two different sounds. I would have done something like RUDURL to reflect which sounds are similar, instead of the RURLUL pattern that you have now. This is a weird recommendation, please do feel free to ignore it.
Shounen wa sora wo tadoru – Everything that I noticed involved where taps were and were not placed. Possible missing taps at 94.000 and 97.000. Move the tap at 98.250 up to 98.000. Move 112.500 to 112.250 and 112.750 to 112.500. As for the section starting at M39, there are spots where you could add taps but they aren’t really needed, such as at 158.250, 162.250 ect. Same goes for bits like 203.750. Other than all of that, very nice. I loved the 24th note section. The patterning was excellent, nothing in this feels even remotely awkward.
Tabitachi No Uta – This is nice, the crossovers are hard at 190, but they’re doable. The layering and the jumps kept this interesting, neat song.
Taekwonburi – wat. Alright, the chart was mostly good but I can’t figure out what the jacks midway through the song go to. The stops were a nice touch haha, this had nice flow and was neat given what the song was (?)
Tasogare wo Asobu Neko – Honestly, many parts didn’t really seem to match the music that well. It seemed like you went for a more free-form manner of choosing where you put your taps, and while they did sometimes flow well, I couldn’t figure out what they were layering or trying to go to. It’s pretty neat that you went with something so hard to step though, the syncing looks good to me.
Tsuminigara – tokano jowaiu – The jumps flowed with the song really well, and I really liked how you stepped many parts that could have been simplified into something far less interesting, especially with those 16ths near the end. I’m not a huge fan of those lone taps during the quiet part near the end but it’s probably better than leaving it completely blank and all I’ll be quiet now :x
Uchiki na cupid – This is a nice file, your crossovers are really good.
Warai – The song itself half put me to sleep but the chart kept me awake. It has a lot nice touches for a 6-footer, which is something you don’t see often. It did get a little bit repetitive, but that’s kinda the song’s fault more than anything.
Wataboshi – I’ll be honest, this was really repetitive. There’s more that you could have done with the song but it still would have been repetitive. This track .-. The ending actually wasn’t bad and you stepped it just fine, but by then the song overstayed it’s welcome to be honest >.< By the way nice effects on the title text.
