But yeah, rhythm games in general could do with less of this, I just think it's a bit extreme when people are coining the term "pedocore" for the style of music that have these sort of graphics.

I posted one image just to say I think some of the artwork in these games are inappropriate. Is that not okay? If I want to discuss this should I not have examples? It was in response to someone who was passively "calling me out".

Some of the art is bad, some of it is questionable, and some of it is perfectly fine with the people complaining having the same energy as the weirdos who can’t help but sexualize a 12 year girl old wearing a two piece swim suit when her goal is just to be comfortable but they are creeps and see skin and can’t help themselves so they project what they are doing onto everyone else.

Edit: my goal wasn’t to call anyone out or single anyone out. I’m just saying this about the art in general and not talking about anyone in this thread. The ones posted here definitely fall under questionable. I wouldn’t object to someone finding it fine or objecting to them.

I think there's a difference between a real life 12 year old being comfortable and making choices about how she dresses compared to fictional characters drawn by men. Anyway, it seems my opinion is being taken to extremes when I've been pretty even-keeled in this thread. I've said what I've said and there's probably not much more to say!

So I guess when art gets posted that you can't defend against, it becomes "wow why are you guys so interested anyways???", we aren't even the ones that brought up the issue in the thread, people who are uncomfortable with a lot of modern BEMANI art got called out in the thread and we came to defend our viewpoint. If you don't like it, don't bring it up!

I'm not sure if that argument is applicable, because an average person wouldn't come across these song jackets and point out specific details that are deemed questionable. It just doesn't make sense to me.

As for the lore behind certain characters that are canonically underage, it should be up to the player to know that getting off to minor characters in loose clothing is absolutely wrong. Even then, if some people didn't even know that they're underage or assumes they're just the flat type, they wouldn't even want to try and think about lewd things from their illustrations. Then again, perhaps the point that illustrators and developers could lean off a bit from this territory might not be such a bad thing.

I've been very argumentative and obnoxious about anime art in modern Bemani, half jokingly half not. I can easily say not every anime girl is inappropriate in these games, and I know I've stretched the truth to talk down upon it, but realistically, there is definitely some imagery that is inappropriate and that the average person would find gross if they saw it. I think to argue otherwise is unrealistic. Outside of inappropriate imagery, I just think the anime aesthetic is ugly and unimaginative, but I don't think there's anything morally wrong with the existence of anime. However, if you don't see what issues people would have with some of the more lewd imagery, I think you might be living in an insolated online world.

And no, I don't think if you like Bemani games regardless of this content you are a pedophile. There are many problematic issues with a lot of media people like. It is okay to like things while acknowledge there may be issues with it.

Now does anyone else have any unpopular opinions? I don't like La Señorita
