DDR Wii, aka DDR2010.
Fairly obvious there.

Well, it could have been any of the first DDR's. DDR2010 was what I had been guessing, but I wasn't sure. He could have been referring to DDR 1st Mix (why I don't know).

"Well." |
D8; .....jeez.
I liked the characters and their dance routines in the Hottest Party series because it feels like more effort went into those games. D: Rather than take the lazy PS2 route and just have the characters do the same dance over and over again, each song had a different routine going for it.
Even if some of the dance steps were the same, every routine was different. It's fun to try and imitate their dance moves from time to time. It's more of a workout than DDR-ing by itself!
Songs and step-charts are indeed important, but what makes me upset from DDR 2010 to DDR 2011 is that they went and just apparently axed great character designs so they can recycle from another arcade without the trouble of designing new outfits for the HP characters. :/ Or even new male characters for HP, 'cause god knows the female-to-male ratio in DDR 2010 was ridiculous. It feels sad and lazy that they would do that.

WTF guys, DDR is about songs and stepcharts. That's the reason why i love Max, Max2 and Extreme. They send characters to hell and worried about more important things

Yeah, even if some of the choreography was embarrasing (the macarena part on Loving You, for instance). I really loved the dancing routines, and was a bit disappointed when they didn't give Dance Routines for the DDR 2009 songs on X2 arcade (despite them using bits and parts of the dance as their new random choreography).
But to DDR II on the wii's benefit, I was impressed with the graphics, the dancing stage shown so far is good and the shadow dancers could be good or bad, depends if they're placeholders or not. I just wished that it also used more if not most of the arcade's versions functionality (20-footer, oni steps, scoring, etc.).
Feel free to correct me if they have been implemented as seen on the trailer.
EDIT: To Daiz: I should have said the 20-footer rating system.

Seriously, do you seriously want to see a 20 footer. On a Wii pad. Seriously, can you even DO a 20 footer?
Anyways axing the old HP characters for the DDR AC characters is a direct result of Facebook people voicing that they want to see more arcade like mixes.

And I'm definitely willing to trade characters if it means some quality songs and charts ported from AC.

1) Dancers will be fine as long as they learn to dance properly and stop when the music stops, different dances for different song types, etc.
2) If not, just do what IIDX and give us generic videos where some have animations overlayed.
3) Try to bring back some of the old KONAMI originals instead of licensees. If licensees are going to be used, make sure you don't get boring songs with boring charts.
There's some other stuff I could say, but these are my main points. Any opinions? (Sorry if these were already discussed)

Once again, the vast majority just said "we like so-and-so;" these people outnumbered the people who said "kill the Wii characters for the PS2 characters." I really don't remember anyone saying anything like that, period.Second, characters are a fun addition to the games, and an incentive to keep playing new DDR as opposed to pirating everything on a custom ITG cabinet. They are also nice when you have no one else to play with... ;>_> And just as nice when you're versing friends as your favorite character. Taking the characters away is like... playing Smash Bros. with all polygons. You can still play it, it's still a challenge, but there's nothing special about who you pick. I will love Zero and Yoshi no matter how much I suck at both games. xP
If you don't like them, go play DDR PS3 or something else as soulless.

For the umpteenth time now, why is everyone still assuming that they completely got rid of the HP characters in DDR II? Unless I missed it somewhere, I'm pretty sure KONAMI hasn't said that they are gone.
