Everybody loves dance play mode, right? You know, that mode where the corners are the arrows too? Well, it's now moved on to the Wii with HP2. And it's permanent. I looked through the options, and saw no way of turning it off. Thanks, Konami.
What exactly did you mean by "that mode where the corners are the arrows too"?

Where on the dance pad, the 2 corner buttons will act as the dpad so they'd be Down/Right, thus tossing out lots of Almosts and stuff.

Except I hooked up my Cobalt Flux, so I have 4 corner buttons. And I have a habit of resting my heels on the lower corners.

Why is the freeze arrow issue SUCH a big problem? I can perfectly understand that I need to jump even if the second arrow isn't green.

ALSO, You can PICK what stage you want to play on, so you don't have to get a "bright" stage.

There, one problem solved, and the four corners problem was with HP1 one as well. Smile

I must not have been good enough to notice it on HP1. Now I'm playing at a high enough level that I notice and consider it a problem.

Well, in case you hadn't noticed, in every PS2 mix, the bottom left corner (triangle) is for going back in the menus, and getting out of normal game mode back to the main menu. I use it so that I don't have to hit the start button on the separate control box. On HP2, the bottom right serves this purpose (at least on my CF, which has a square there. Probably B on the bundle pad, and in the upper right). Also, on HP2, bottom left will bring up the stage select menu.
Having the buttons is fine, and even useful, if they're inactive during songs.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
Yeah 鏡花水月楼 was originally in GF/DM V5 though it had (GFDM Edition) attached. (Note: when you see a song that has "[game name] edition", it's got a good chance of crossing over to another game ;).)

They really should have given the video full screen treatment though, having to look for it in the background stinks Sad.

Oh, and before Silenttype asks, no, there is no edit mode, though it looks like we get training mode this time.

Oh, however did you know that I was going to ask? Roll Eyes

Thanks for answering; unfortunately for though that I don't have a Wii, or a 360.Oops

Yah I agree, but atleast they were able to give us a little bit of it! Besides, I like the dance that the characters do to that song Tongue

The KO's do sound very impressive overall, however I must say that many of the licences and covers have disappointed me this time as Hottest Party felt more like a proper disco dance party while Hottest Party 2 seems to have taken a dive into more of a kids birthday party. I'm Walking On Sunshine feels like almost the only song to have carried on the original games' feel with the rest sometimes being poor excuses for popular pop party tracks.

Sorry. Sad

Some covers have been a tad disappointing. As I said earlier, Makes Me Wonder's cover is horrible from the sample I heard but other cover remixes are wonderful. And I loved the licenses in HP1. Especially Call on Me. This time around, there are less that I like as much but there are some I really really like even more than my favourites from the original. And that's all that matters. Smile

But yes, I agree, some of the covers could've been better. Sadbut I'm judging this based on the samples I heard off the song wheel. I wanna hear the full thing before labelling a cover.

I really, really like the cover Nite Runner, I Ran and Don't You Forget about Me. However, Call On Me is HORRIBLE. They should have used the original (along with the video:vhappySmile

But looking at the overall feel of HP2, (looking at videos lol), I think that it feels more DDR-ish. AND IM SO HAPPY, That the KO'S actually have some new beats! The Ko's on HP1 were rather bland.

Same here! I thought I was the only one that loved how the new Nite-runner sounds. Big Grin
And I Ran is very well done.

I'm gonna leave out passing judgments on Call on Me just yet till I haer the full thing. GoshaDole says the full thing is better and nice to dance to. And yes, I agree that they probably should've used the original instaed but the video... NO. <_<

And yes, the KO's from HP1 weren't... "bumping", let's say, in comparison to the wide range of appeal found within the KO's in HP2. The KO's from HP1 such as Moving On, Confession, Beautiful Inside, Mess with My Emotions and will simply weren't captivating at all for me. I thought the licenses were largely better than the KO's in HP1 as a whole. The licenses in HP1 were very well done imo and were largely underappreciated. Sad

But now Konami really outdid themselves with the KO's.

What do you mean? You don't like the video for Call On Me?

It would be good to have! *plays Call On Me but fails because too distracted*

Ok... maybe not a great idea.
