I have to agree. And this coming from someone who plays DDR on x1 speed, I'd say this should be a ten. (or 15 for X-scale)

I think it's hilarious that these songs are forced on 1x flat because of 2ndMIX MODE. No wonder haven't seen a pass yet, that incomprehensible mess of arrows is unreadable.
!
!
If these somehow become part of the new OMES in X3 mode, I wouldn't be surprised if we are forced to have those mods as well, considering Bemani is having fun with giving us absurd gimmicks in their OMES as of late..

I'm thinking Revolution will be a 17 in X3 mode, and Evolution being at least a 15, if not, maybe a 16. I'm also sensing challenge charts for these, at probably 19 and 18 respectively.

I don't think they'll be challenge charts for either one of this. I also don't think either one of these will available in X3Mode outside of a course. What I do believe is that there will be more unlocks. I wouldn't be surprised to see them throw out an ES if you SS'd either one of these songs.

A new PARANOiA AND Trip Machine?! X3 vs. 2nd Mix is turning out to be quite epic now! After losing hope from before... PARANOiA Revolution even sounds old-school too!
But how are we supposed to FC these songs with those seizure-inducing backgrounds (not to mention FLAT)?

They same way they did in back In 1998-2000. Practice.

I hope they do cross over to the X3 SIDE.
And speaking of the speculation about X3 vs. 2ndMIX possibly being the end of DDR, I of course hope that it's not the true end. However... while seeing MAX.(period) would really seal the deal, PARANOiA and TRIP MACHINE are viewed as the first original boss songs of the entire series, as they were introduced from the very start of DDR. Both have had a series of remixes over the course of DDR's run. You couldn't not think of these two series, let alone the original songs themselves, when thinking or talking about DDR. Now they're back on a mode that gives us that nostalgic feeling of how DDR started out and where those two songs were, at the time, considered very difficult.......and it seems to have come full circle now. I always personally viewed the TRIP MACHINE series easier to deal with than the PARANOiA series (especially since there are a lot more remixes than the TRIP MACHINE series), therefore I feel that PARANOiA Revolution is the one. It was the first boss and very challenging song....and now it is back in a revolutionized, challenging form.....
.....All dramatics aside, I'm probably wrong. It would still be nice to see DDR continue.
And TRIP MACHINE Evolution sounds awesome.

And songs were a heck of a lot easier back then too. There were no 10 footers (let alone 300+BPM songs) and very few speed changes/stops in songs during the 2nd Mix era.

Honestly, I don't see any indication that this is the end of the series at all. Even after DDR Extreme, all they indicated was it was the end of an "era" and quite plainly stated that they were starting over. Why would they end a series that's still pretty popular, just like that?

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but.. I didn't think DDR -WAS- very popular anymore. I know I'm in the UK where it never really took off anyway but from what I've seen on forums and stuff over the past few years regarding both US and JP releases, general consensus was that it's not all that popular. Sales figures for CS releases I'm sure I remember seeing were very low too.
I don't WANT it to end, and it would be a complete surprise considering there's been no build up but it WOULD be fitting. To me anyway!

But DDR is still popular in Japan. It's also relatively popular in the US compared to what it was back when SuperNOVA first came out. Back then a LOT of people stopped playing DDR all together. It's not as popular as the Max-Extreme days outside of Japan, it never will be again, but not being at it's peak doesn't mean it's on its death bed.

...Huh? The 300 BPM speed makes the song easier to read than something like Uh La La La, which was just a wall of arrows.
For the record, the last few weeks of every DDR unlock cycle always ends up with some sort of "COULD THIS MEAN THIS IS THE LAST EVER DDR?", and it's never worth speculating about. If anything, we're due another international-targetted release.

I'm only believing it to be a possibility because at this point, when it comes to BEMANI and KONAMI, anything is possible.

Last ever DDR? heck no. Remember that this is called X3 VS 2ndMIX, and U1 mentioned that it's the final battle between X3 and 2ndMIX. I'm not sure what he meant, though. Maybe X3 wins in the end?

I kind of think that if X2 & X3 had more machine imports into the western world that DDR would be more popular than it is right now, but not like during the heydays of EXTREME. Part of the problem is that KONAMI doesn't Advertise DDR! Simply put, it's out of sight, out of mind. Does KONAMI expect everybody to know about DDR?
Most westerners have probably forgotten about DDR (except the hardcore players), and with the arcade scene disappearing, the chances of seeing a newer DDR mix (X2 or X3) in the western world is slim to none. As where EXTREME (or earlier mixes) could be found in almost every city and town that had a least a 5-figure population (back then).
It seems like no matter what kind of awesome surprises KONAMI throws at us, it's not ever going to be as popular or surpass EXTREME since the western world isn't wildly importing X3 machines like they did with EXTREME.

Honestly, it wasn't the Western world was actively importing the games because it was so popular. The Eastern world had such a saturation of DDR machines that they were getting rid of them, that's how they penetrated the US market.

If anything I think we just no longer will see CS DDR releases in both the US and Japan, but that in no way represents an end to the series. Heck plenty of Bemani games no longer have CS ports but the AC incarnations are still going strong.
Besides, if there are no more CS releases, this affects us how? Granted I agree its nice to be able to play on a console and not all of us have constant access to our computers to play Stepmania, but its certainly not the end for us or anyone who really enjoys playing the outside of Japan. If Konami is no longer taking a loss while us loyal fans are still able to play our favorite game, what is so terrible about that?
[spoiler]The only thing which would suck then is if we stopped getting OSTs. That could be problematic./spoiler]

While I'm not ready to say the CS games of DDR are over, I will definitely agree it won't really affect us all that much. Stepmania will forever let us play AC content at home. At the same time. Konami is battling against the likes of Just Dance and Dance Central. DDR is obviously a different gameplay method but it can no longer claim to be the only dancing game out there. I think if they want to make money, they really need to create one DDR "shell" that gets song packs periodically, like Rock Band. This would prevent the need to release a DDR CS game every year, give us the ability to extend the life of the game at our discretion and makes Konami buckets of cash.
