beatmania IIDX 23 copula (AC)

It's not really that Sound Holic's IIDX offerings sound like Terra, but the fact that both Naoki and Nana Takahashi are so heavily influenced by Daisuke Asakura.

Terra's entire gimmick was that Naoki and Jun had formed a jpop group in the vein of TM Revolution and Access, where they looked, sounded and dressed like a 90s gothic synthpop group. Asakura obviously gave them his blessing, and eventually even wrote a song for them.

Nana Takahashi is one of like, 10 members in Sound Holic, but she's the one who primarily writes and sings the Bemani songs. Her deal is that she arranges or sings covers of Tohou songs, but now that she's composing original material for Bemani, her influences are becoming really obvious, and you're probably right in your assumption that Konami are pushing her to put out more and more Asakura-sounding songs, because they've become such a staple of IIDX.

VENUS are also directly based on Asakura's band Access, but as more of a parody than a tribute. Access were an 'openly gay' synthpop band, who appealed to their female fanbase with homoerotic music videos, and live performances where they'd hug and kiss inbetween songs. Venus are basically an access tribute band, who dress like Access, sound like Access, and apparently tease the homosexual stuff in video content, although I haven't watched enough to actually see them do that.

I like that influence. I really like 90's J-POP compared to todays. Especially with T.M. REVOLUTION.
Speaking of which, how come there isn't a T.M. revolution song in one of the Bemani games right now?

Edit : I guess Switch, Stealth and Love & Joy are also still in DDR, although Nishikawa had nothing to do with them.

Meh, I didn't like Naoki's cover as much. Plus I don't like most of the Konami covers anyways, the original tends to be better. I was talking about the real deal too.

Happy for Dynamite, Nanairo, Nowhere, Inner Spirit, and Damage Per Second getting long versions. Only wish Devil's Gear got a long version but what we are getting is still a very damn good list. Looks like I'll have until vol 2 to get Rock It and Arcana.

That's the one song of this installment that I genuinely hate. Hooray for an extended Dynamite, though.

I thought I was alone when it came to not being a DJ SHARPNEL fan, but I've yet to see anyone who likes めいさいアイドル☆あいむちゃん♪. Good reason, it's by far the worst song in copula, and this game has Konzert V.

I cringe from the inside everytime I hear that song, be it short (AC copula) or long (Remo-Con's album). It's a good thing Remo-Con has it in his album and NOT the copula OST.

Konzert V is better than dempa techno. What??? denpa techno? Wtf is that. my first thoughrs when I listened to that dj sharpnel song

Lol agreed. I didnt have high expectations in the first place when it was revealed hat DJ SHARPNEL contributed to this installment. And Konzert V is just....useless.

EXPERT Mode will be returning on February 3, along with Internet Ranking courses.

Still wish they explained WHY it's been absent from IIDX for so long, and then only brought back partially into the newer games...
