lol no. On SN2 you don't get AAAs with 30something Greats. Also is the timing dead loose or something? It's a BIT weird to get 30g on MAX 300 with 4 goods 2 misses.

By the looks of it, the letter grades are score based with AAA amounting to 100% of the base score... but that's before the bonus score gets added on top. So if there were no bonuses then it would be the same as Supernova 1 scores (since there's no marvellous) but I think this side-chat should probably be taken back to the PS3 DDR topic.

On-topic I do find it amusing that, for once, PS3 is for casuals and Wii is for hardcores.

If you don't get all Perfects, you don't get a AAA.
It's as simple as that.

Interesting. I didn't think of it that way at all. If this is exactly what they were going for with the reboot, then I hope it stays.

I never really understood why people consider non-PFC AAAs "fake". No one considers non-FC AAs "fake" from the old 5thMIX(?) requirement.

The key point is that AAAs are no longer considered the "highest possible grade". PFCs are. (Well, MFCs technically but those are too rare to really take into consideration.)

Some might argue that you can easily get something like 500 perfects, 2 greats, and 1 miss. In the old system, this would be worse than 400 perfects and 103 greats. I agree that doesn't make sense, but then it makes equally less sense for 500 marvelouses, 20 perfects, and 1 great to be worse than 420 marvelouses and 101 perfects. Just look at Dr.D's tournament finals when he was facing off against 5 1 3.
For ITG players: Would you really like to be denied a star grade (96%+) for anything below an Excellent?

The differing grade systems make "AAA" a misnomer unless you mean it literally. I guess people should say PFC and MFC, unless they're okay with allowing the inclusion of scores from more lenient games like these. They aren't "fake" but most people imply Pefects or higher when they say AAA.

I'm fine with people calling them stuff like "fake AAA lol". What I really hate is when people get an AAA and say that they "almost AAAed it" when it should be "almost PFCed it".

May I please have a link for that?
