Also, HAI GUYZ! Missed me?
I'd say not.
I did! I'd say not.
a) I'm an annoying, whiny git.
b) I still fancy you.
Konami's handling of releases in Europe no longer surprises me: America is more lucrative for the amount of effort Konami need to put in, Europe isn't.
Wow, I've been gone from the DDR community for so long I feel completely out of the loop of what's been going on. Have I missed anything important?

I'm gonna be checking GAME and hmv tomorrow to see if at least the major chains have it in store. If they don't, this game is gonna flop in the charts just like the last DDR...
Bump: Looks like this game will have to rely on online sales. Couldn't find it in three places today.

It's the UK, it's DDR. Expecting DDR to be good in the charts is like expecting there to be a Prime Minister who isn't shit.
And there was a stack of them in HMV. Bought it. WINWINWIN
I guess you want some pics now. The only two that matter:
Disc:
AW HELL NAH
Title:
Considering the Japanese one was the logo on a white background, not that bad.
Also did HP3 US treat Almost/Boo as Miss? Because this does.

I agree 100% on that statement, that disc cover is CRAP in comparison to even the North American disc. Now that the game is out, I feel like going onto YouTube and seeing if anyone as posted a video of the entire song list to see if it's worth buying yet another version of a game that's I've beaten twice now, I beat the North American and the Japanese versions of Hottest Party already, which is kinda sad .Post #428 · Posted at 2010-06-06 11:08:11pm 14 years ago

DDR HP3 ranked #34 in the UK Wii charts in their first week. Bizarrely, DDR HP2 has re-entered the chart at #39.
Not amazing at all.

As long as DDR is on the charts at all, Konami should realize that it's a good thing to put effort into. I'm pretty sure they've published games that don't even show up on that list.

Just Dance isn't even in the Top 40 anymore. I suppose that's some minor success.

No, you're not looking right. Just Dance isn't a full-priced game, hence it's not in the chart.
Look in the multi-platform chart and you'll see it's still managing a TOP 10 position across ALL platforms.

Slightly Off Topic: I don't understand the hate this game gets. It's fun as hell and the customer reviews it got were through the roof. Btw, they are making another one. This one is based off of broadway numbers and I, personally, am EXCITED AS HELL.

You know what, I've made several warnings to friends of mine for a LONG time about the state of DDR and how some other developer with a little bit of focus on what's important could completely disrupt Konami's product if it was released. It happened, it's just that instead of being called Dance Hero like people were assuming, it's called Just Dance and it effectively put Konami and this years DDR into a fetal position against a wall for this release.
Seriously though, you can think what you will of Just Dance, but the game did something that DDR really doesn't do that well; actually be a title that can be used in a social setting that's not an arcade or amongst us Bemani freaks. Just Dance was a game that actually had you doing REAL, well known dance moves that people can actually relate to, and while it's detection of motion may not have been perfect, it was more than good enough for the TONS (and tons cannot be emphasized enough) of people who bought it and enjoyed it. At this point Just Dance has probably outsold all 3 HP games in less than 6 months, and if it hasn't it probably will VERY shortly.
As a direct result of this unlike HP1 and 2, HP3 had its price dropped to $49.99 and had a complete makeover of it's box art. The new box art mimics the EU release in terms of promoting fitness instead of dancing (though the logo is still identical), which was probably a last ditch effort to get out of the crosshairs of Just Dance. I hope they got something REALLY good planned for this year, otherwise the next Just Dance, OR somebody else could end up mangling them again and I'd hate to see a repeat of last year.

This is probably the only time where the majority ruin it for the minority by degrading the entire dance game genre if Konami ever switched to their direction.
