888 Challenge is awesome. You don't have to play it if you don't want to, and it fits the song dead on. If you take apart the song more, you realize the crossovers go when the song gets really dis-harmonized.

If you don't like the harder charts, then don't play them. The only one you're forced into that's not that great is DeltaMAX.

Is the only way to unlock LA Evolved through quest mode? or does no one know the answer to this?

As far as I know, yes

But quest mode only takes 2 hours or less. You don't have to clear EVERY street mission, just one of each.

You DO realize I dislike the song, and not that it's a boss song, right?

888's Challenge chart does make sense, it's just that the song just kills it in my opinion.

As for my previous comment about no crossovers, I must not have been paying much attention. It was just staring at the clusters of 16th arrows and the ending.

I already got the Unlock All Songs achievement but I'm missing them.

Those other songs I mentioned are probably DLC, and there is more than that too, but it's in the game credits.

Technically, none of the Ultramixes or Universe had a boss song that wasn't already released for the arcades or PS2 versions. I haven't exactly played any of them either but don't these lack the ES/EES stage thing? Forgive me if I'm wrong.

I do recall seeing gemubaka play DeltaMAX, Out of Decaf and 888 with the 4 lives bar. That's the universal sign of a boss song right there.

I'd call 888 a 17 or 18. No doubt it's incredibly hard but thankfully the 16th clusters aren't too bad and none of them are crossovers. It speaks like DEGRS, moves like ReaF, and destroys you like Dash Hopes.

In other words, that's what 888 in its entirety reminds me of.

That's on all the Bonus and Extra Stages in this game. Game Mode consists of 4-5 stages, where after 2 songs, you get a bonus stage, then get one more regular stage. Also, if you maintained some average grade letter (AA I think), you get an Extra Stage, with random mods.

You do realize that Dash Hopes is much harder, probably a 24 or 25, don't you? 888 is a walk in the park by comparison.

Concertino in Blue and Murmur Twins look nice, and 888 looks...interesting to say the least. However, Delta Max...Blech.

If you don't like the step chart for Delta Max, just make an edit for it.

I don't like the song itself and the +1 BPM per beat idea is cool for stepmania but not for canonical DDR.

Plus I've already played it many many times.

Delta Max would be good if not for all those freezes in the beginning. It seems they were just put there to make the chart harder to read during the slow parts.

Agree. It might be me, but Delta Max looks to be at the level as Max 300 & LOM.
