"Give me a steady beat."
My copy of DDR EXTREME 2 continues to appreciate in value...

I'm glad that the XBox 360 is at least getting a game, though it would have been better if it had gotten a Wii port instead. The last two arcade releases have been phenomenal and the last really good CS release was X (pick either region). It's almost like Konami's increasing the value of the arcades by NOT porting them to the console anymore.

I don't have much hope for this version, but if somehow it turns out to be less atrocious than the PS3, I might buy it.

I just don't get why these games have no online component.

This is what really surprised me about this game. I thought there'd be some sort of online component beyond DLC, given the consoles in question.

As long as Konami profits from the "lame"stream DDR titles they are printing now, they won't care what we truly want.
Here's hoping for a CS port of DDRX2.

I think in terms of my favorites, it'll probably have to be MAX and EXTREME2. I really never touched the Xbox versions.

According to the AC DDRX2 thread, Naoki says there are no plans for a CS port of X2.
So in my brief return, I am going to slowly but surely work on a new simfile mix called TEMPEST. Still workin' on it. Preview -->

X2 port will come out when people in japan stop spending money on X2 arcade. Think about it; arcades, dedicated players will spend a hell of a lot more than casual players. Consoles, both types can only be charged once. What with the Paseli system, there's no reason to stifle a huge source of income like X2 Arcade just yet. Thus comes our mediocre CS versions for the time being.

That argument doesn't really hold, DDR X CS JP came out a month after AC release.

That somewhat doesn't make quite sense, plus, DDR X3 is in the works, so they will just spend MOAR money on the next AC version, plus in Japan it even seems like they don't even need a CS version of the AC because then if you think about it, the arcade version would be mostly unplayable since, you guessed it, most of the songs would appear right at the comfort of your home, plus if it had any of the e-amuse events/perks in it, then why pay for it on the arcade if you have it right at home?

I get what Konami's doing now, this and probably many other reasons is why they are not quickly putting out another AC CS port anymore, this includes IIDX too.

But hell, at LEAST give the US some sort of good CS port, now we know not to trust in Naoki or KoA to make their own DDR CS games, because were basically getting a Rock Revolution DDR type game. And you guys know VERY WELL how that went >__>.

Hence why I'm basing my theory on the inclusion of the Paseli system. For once having both an arcade and console version of the same game may be creating unintentional self-competition. Unless I'm getting everything wrong about the Paseli system, and it all goes to arcade operators anyway.

But wasn't that rushed just for the EDIT MODE function?

Who says? But the point is, they still released it quite promptly after AC release.

I find it funny how DDR's FB Xbox 360 announcement is generally received negatively by fans.

I think it's pretty expected. We're fans. We hate it. We're not all that different from other fans. Tongue

Wasn't that deemed by Konami to have been a bit of shark jumping?

I know we've all known this bit of info for a while now, but I really want to slap some sense into NaokiConfused

What Max said about having no AC CS port would draw more people to the arcade version is very true indeed, but they are really writing off a lot of people who aren't as fortunate enough to live close enough to an arcade with the most recent arcade mix or even an arcade at all.
The AC CS port gives the people in that position a little slice of the arcade experience.

Another thing that was really beneficial about the arcade ports was their interfaces. I found them the easiest to navigate and all my desired options were at the tip of my toes.
The PS3/360 version however, looks completely bland, uninspired, and unorganized. Everything just seems out of place.
