To be quite frank, I'm not surprised that DDR is dying when Konami completely abandoned the franchise, starting from cutting the cord in terms of localization. I'm sorry to break this to you people, but the fanbase of a product has little to no control in the support of the company's product. If the company decides on their own terms that they are done with a series, they are done! This is the reason we don't have any more continuity with games like Half-Life, Mega Man, Klonoa, Sparkster, Conker, Goemon, AND the list goes on and on and on......

Trust me, this is the same kind of discussion I hear with Klonoa. "Oh, it can't stand up to the AAA game industry." "Oh, nobody is interested in those games anymore." There's no citation of proof of such claims if attempts were never made to begin with...and I do actually mean full-fledged attempts. Not like the abysmal half-assed attempts such as the localized counterparts to Taiko Drum Master, beatmania, or pop'n music.

Also, don't use the Rhythm Video Game Crash as an excuse. We all saw that coming from the 50+ lazy attempts of Rock Band/Guitar Hero games that were thrown at us faster than you could actually play Through the Fire and Flames on Expert.

If DDR is gonna go out with a whimper, Konami should at least do a CS dump of content if it still has 100% control over said content.

It's pretty obvious that Konami has no interest in making "original" songs for the game anymore. Even crossover content is a joke.

Truth be told I would have never gotten into BEMANI if it wasn't for DDR, but over the years I have really seen the height of it's popularity turn into what it is now. It's a pretty honorable mention that this game still lasted 15 years since it's inception, outside of major games like Mario, Zelda, (the entire Nintendo franchise of video games), Call of Duty, Need For Speed, Guitar Hero, Rock Band and other games of the same title, DDR lasted just about, if not, longer than these games.

There may come a time where DDR may be re-invented, just like SuperNOVA,, only it probably may not be the DDR we have come to enjoy (that or the technological side of things will make owning a pad and having easier access to songs much more better than what we have now), but until then I await the final tune of DDR to be played.

I think that if it is going out, yes they should bring all CS content into the game either in the ddr 2014 folder, or its own folder. or maybe add challenge charts to all of the songs or something idk

I mean shit, going out with a new Paranoia and Trip Machine? Along with the Love is the Power video that was pretty much a sendoff in itself anyways? I would've been more than fine with that

Then just say the series is "done" and add all the crossovers and stuff to the X3 folder. Everybody's happy with the sendoff, gets new songs and isn't expecting much

Why don't just other BEMANI (especially Reflec) get a song from western commisioned artist?

I know IIDX gets a song from a Western commision artist every now and then.

Max. (period) with a alternate challenge chart (the existing one is stupid) would be a fine send off. Preferably with a 19 challenge chart for completion sake.

Or better yet, new steps on all difficulties. Max period is pretty terrible step wise.

This... I always thought Trip Machine Evolution, Paranoia Revolution, and Love is the Power had some sort of "end of something" sound to it.

They should have ended it at the end of 2013 to be honest, the moment 2014 began it was pretty abysmal, outside the addition of starmine, Beach Side Bunny, and (onion) JOMANDA, outside of that (and the 'exclusives') there is just nothing of notable value that has come from 2014.
