I was one of those guys who won a free DDR Mario Mix Bundle from EB Games for getting a higher score than the other guys who showed up. So the pad is old but wasn't used very much.

Wait, so there was a contest? Was it like a launch party type of thing or like just a local competition?

this is somewhat off-topic, but when the game launched, Nintendo and EB Games organized a nation-wide thing (USA) where local EB Games could hold "contests" to give away the game.

twinkle little star super hard lol.

"Give me a steady beat."
I imagine that's because there's been more news since this game was released.

If you look at the DanceDanceRevolution page on the forum, this thread is still stickied (blue pip) to the top of the page so it's not going anywhere for the time being.

Well, that happens from time to time.

Like with DDR SN2 and DDR X...etc.

"Rainbows in the Sky"
Looking back, I just realized this game is messing up my step timings. I was playing SN2 earlier today on a PS2 and for some reason I could only manage to get greats most of the time. I'm going to attribute that to playing DDR II exclusively this month and lenient timing windows Tongue
I just came to say hello.

If you're playing on an HDTV, keep in mind that SN2 didn't have a progressive scan option. X and X2 seemed to be fine to me, but everything earlier than that seemed a little funny to me, especially if I was using the official softmat and not the Ignition 3.0.

Yeah, it's likely you'll have to calibrate the mix. Fortunately, SN2 has a nifty "Test Step Timing" function that lets you get it pretty well fine-tuned; and you should count the number of x0.4 ms and which way you go - that'll be the setting that calibrates the rest of your PS2 mixes. ;)

IIRC out of all the Wii games, only Hottest Party 2 has a lenient timing window compared to all the PS2 games.

I don't have any CS to compare with, but I know the DDR II timing windows are ridiculously larger than Betson DDRX2 AC. I thought I heard somewhere that some of the PS2 CS games had arcade timing windows.

Has anyone played the double charts for the DDR II licenses? How are they? (I'm about to find out, anyway...)

I like that goods don't break combos. :< The flashiness is my favorite thing about the game. Tests your level of not-getting-distractedness.

Dude, I can't get over Second Heaven's video; it creeps me out so much. .n.; Just WHO is that guy in the chair? Is he Satan/God, or what?

You haven't seen too many iidx vids then.
Here you go.

For those who can't see the vid because of their jobs, I posted a youtube link to rottel-the-mercury.

The recent unique videos from beatmania are actually pretty tame compared to days of yore. Aegis' post is an example of an old video. Also look up the video for MACHO GANG.
