I have so many mixed feelings about this game. I guess I'll do a ramble list and not a review.

1> I love the custom videos! Finally it's something that's not a dancer! Not to say that DDR X2 AC did it correctly. I believe you should have the choice between dancer or video. If you chose dancer, the custom videos will be playing on the in game stage screens just like DDR X2 AC. Regardless, they look spiffy.

2> The note skin is actually not that bad. I do agree it looks like crap on "note" but as for the normal flashing colors, I don't mind it at all. It's like no problem at all.

3> I HATE the fever thing. Thank god it's more like DJ max instead of the hero series but still...I don't want it.

4> I LOVE the bonus sections! It makes max 300 so much epic. {Now only if they can get the scoring correct}

5> OMG YOU CAN RECORD!!! HELL YES!!! {Sorry for caps}

6> Club mode moves too slowly for the first 200 songs but after that, I love hoe the stepchart can change mid song

7> I'm loving octomode. It looks SO much better than the trailer. Good job konami!

8> Grading sucks again...AAA with 22 greats? WHY?!?!?!

9> They got rid of almost, thanks!

Overall, it's just a collection of good things to come. Come on patches! DO IT DO IT!!!

After playing for a while longer...this is how I feel:
Sure there are some flaws, and maybe some missing features that we've grown to love,
but it's still a solid DDR game, and in the slim but hopeful chance they patch the game (and if we EVER get DLC!), then really we would have no reason not to say that this is a good DDR game for the PS3.

If you open your mind to the new school of CS DDR established in 2007 with Hottest Party, this game is not too bad. Most of the licenses still bore me but with the KO stuff, magnificent. There's so many EURO style songs here it's fantastic.

NAOKI has some of best work ever in this game. Find you again, Let's get away, and Until the end.
Will not change sig till pop'n 17, IIDX 17, and GF/DM XG get CS versions.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
Find You Again SCREAMS to be remastered. It's got a good vocalist and catchy lyrics, but the BGM is lacking big time. Let's Get Away is alright, but the various trailers have kind of overplayed the song for me. I'll probably like it better once I hear the full version. Is NAOKI credited with Until the End? I'd venture a guess and say it's wac.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
It makes people feel good about themselves to see their scores so high.
I mean people rage every time they got a flagged song on Extreme or SN, but from SN2 it was like YAY AAA'ed IT. I mean sure elitists will still go PFC ONLY BITCHES but then those who constantly try and fail to get pfc's minus a great or two can feel included too.

I think this looser grading works out okay. You first can work for the letter grade, then improve your star color (blue, green, yellow). Finally, try to get the highest possible score on the song/difficulty combo.

You've never gotten a AAA from 30g, 4 goods and 2 misses on other CS games before.

It doesn't feel right getting 20+ greats and a miss and seeing a AAA on the screen.
I was ok with the SN2 scoring where you could get 3 or 4 greats and still manage a AAA, but this is ridiculous.

Dear ESRB,
There's too many flashing lights and explosions in the game, how the heck could anyone tell?

Love,
xXMokou98Xx ♥
------------------------------
To answer your question, no I have not seen that before in the game, but I'll look out for it.
Weird how the ESRB notices something that no one else has yet.

yes, but the difference between timing windows and the grading scale is about as big as the difference between your intelligence and the intelligence of everyone else in the conversation.

TIMING IS NOT THE SAME AS GRADING SCALE. this means the size of the perfect window in no way reflects how many greats make up a AAA or AA.

In correction to my previous post I found what the ESRB was talking about:
One of the animations is a girl with, as they described, " a half-zipped jumpsuit with exposed cleavage".
It popped up during Club mode, forget what song it was.
