I wonder how the max x-specials are gonna be..... for some reason I also really want a tough Healing Vision

My guess is that they are going to be unlocked through some kind of event. It's been nearly three months since the X release, they obviously aren't planning on waiting three months in between each set.

Of course, we have been assuming so far that the 2nd~EXTREME X-Specials are playable using the same means that the 1st mix X-Specials, which could be wrong.

then we could ask people to try some methods out in the meantime then

Playing three songs in different difficulties
Playing songs by the same artist
Playing songs whose difficulty add up to the songs in question
Playing with a certain combination of modifiers
Playing the same song three times

Just throwing some ideas out there.

Unlocks are possibly being slower till the release of DDR X in EU/US?

Obviously not expecting any kind of e-amuse for the UK, so I'm hoping and praying for a user-input unlock system like SN2

Same way they did the other speshuls, of all kinds. Scatter arrows at random, toss in a few speed changes and stop, have a keyboard player test it once, then call it good.

Actually, I thought Trip Machine (X-Special) was really good. PARANOiA not so much, but it wasn't like...horrible.

I enjoyed the TRIP MACHINE chart. PARANOiA was forced and I didn't like that.

i'm trying to figure out if im in the rankings page on the konami japan website. i'm a pretty avid player getting a majority of AA and a handful of AAA. i don't know much KANJI so i'm not sure if i'm looking in the right place. my card is labeled DJ FMF and i'm living in Okinawa, Japan. does anyone know where to look for our officials standings? right now my Enjoy level is 29 and i have maybe 22-28,000 points. any help is appreciated.

I've constantly been trying to check for the next X-specials but no luck yet.

I'll try some more ideas.

PARANOiA (X-Special) is fine. The original steps amounted to arrows thrown together at random, and the X-Special is just a more difficult take on that. It's a very hard song to actually write steps for; it's kind of an aural mess. I have no problems with the X-Special; it feels like a real successor to the original's steps.

TRIP MACHINE (X-Special) is just really fun, good job on that one.

Given those two, I really look forward to the other X-Specials.

animemental, the SMM Specials are meant for the Street Master Mode in the PlayStation 2 version.

I know that, but couldn't they just make it EDIT DATA, then transfer it to the Arcade? It's that easy.

A lot has happened I hope a lot more will happen. I've heard they're losing the poles, does this mean they'll make the machines without them?

beachguy93: I've always felt that Healing Vision was under-rated (like Sexy Planet) and the version that became a boss/hard song is the one that sounds the least related AND suffers major step-timing issues (tho not as much now).

I was personally disappointed with DDR X's initial offerings, but things are looking up.

Also, I'd rather have old songs get new steps added, preferably everything prior to MAX, but that's just me...

Those are the boss series and the theme of the X-Specials is boss songs (although Healing Vision, which is easier than any 5th Mix 9, is an odd choice). A lot of them don't make sense for an X-Special, mostly the later ones, but hey, that's the theme they're using to celebrate the 10th anniversary..
