Another year down the drain and still no release...

We're sorry that this project is taking much longer than expected. As punishment, I decided to take it upon myself to see how difficult it would be to take SuperNOVA3's theme code and use it to make something a bit... different.

I hope you guys like nostalgia trips.

Yes, this will be an interim project while we work on finishing up SN3. I plan to remaster all graphics and make it as accurate as possible.

Wait a second, what happened to the SuperNOVA3 theme?

Its still being worked on and was (possibly) slated for a Christmas release, but since its about 3-4 days after the fact its going to be pushed back. So please don't worry about the theme they'll release it when its good and ready.

It wasn't slated for a Christmas release, the release date was more "(we really hope it's) some time in 2016" and it's not going to be that anymore.

Alright, explanation time.
At this point in time for the theme, the coding is beyond my skill level. I'll have to learn a couple things to continue working on the SN3 theme if I'm not making graphics or re-designing screens. I took up working on the SuperNOVA 1 theme to see how easy it would be for a less skilled themer to convert it to a different theme based off of the SuperNOVA series.

So far, I've noticed how spread out a lot of the elements are for each screen, the SuperNOVA theme is my chance to recode a couple of things and to give myself a break from Dance Dance Revolution Mountain Dew edition.

Turns out there may be hope yet, lads. Stick with us here on Radio BIG.

Major changes include:
Selectable game backgrounds (SuperNOVA 1-3)
The option to use the original style ("Wide Style") or the X style of Music Select screen
Extra Music Select screen
Other graphical changes and improvements
Somewhat-experimental DDR-style Endless Mode (if running SM 5.0.11 or later)
Starter Mode improvements/changes
Bug fixes

Known issues
Endless Mode is a bit strange in a number of ways, and has missing features
Groups don't have banners in Starter Mode
You can pick difficulties harder than Basic in Starter Mode, but they won't be displayed on the Music Select screen
Probably some others, if they come up and we've encountered them we'll tell you
Image size errors appear in 4:3 mode on the startup logo screen

Things that may look like, but are not, bugs
Extra Music Select does not have a Groove Radar
The maximum score in Starter Mode is 100,000
You need to use the Theme Options screen to pick the Endless difficulty level (this is a temporary solution)

Hey! Really sorry I couldn't get this out there before the release but yes, you can now change between Extreme - SuperNOVA 3's menu music!
Also, we're aware of the image size problems right now!

Would recommend uploading the simfile pack to some place other than MEGA. I can download them from the category but that's beyond the point, other's can't and MEGA is beyond shit.

This release fixes the image size issues and adds in swappable music.

I noticed that on the Select Mode screen, all of the screenshots feature a music video or dancer except the Endless Mode one (uses BG) and that looks weird. Also the songwheel/etc. font is missing some characters. For example the artist should be Mýa here, but shows up as Ma.


Edit: Combo numbers are a little messed up too.


Edit: Playing through some of the files now, pretty nice all around so far. One thing I noticed: the ending freeze on Hi goes on longer than the end of the song.
