My review for the 2nd week

Final Fantasy is an RPG
Challenge (9)
The chart is not bad. Good crossovers, triplet and galop.
Expert (8)
Same style as challenge, again no mistakes, chart is fine.

Gym Leader Battle
Challenge (13)
I saw only one part where i had to double step. The other part are good.
The 2 or 3 first triplet was not necessary i think. Also some streams should have be a bit shorter maybe.
I saw that you followed the background noice ;)
First 13 of the contest. It's still good to see hard chart for once.
Expert (9)
Good chart. The crossovers was nice and no double steps.

In the tornado

Some double steps. Or maybe it was spins ? (for do the tornado).
My greatest disappointment was that the chart was so easy. This should be a challenge 11 or 12 feet somewhere.
Some part of the chart was interesting.
Difficult(7)
Chart is ok. Good use of some 8th or 16th single arrows.

Kong Korps

Maybe a bit easy for a 9, it's more a 8.
I was confused with the rythm. But after 30sec, i was used to the background rythm that you used.
The chart itself was not bad. galop, freeze, crossovers (even some harder ones). Good stuff.
But i think this could have been a bit better in rythmic purpose, because this don't follow enough the main rythm.

The chart was not bad.
Little crossover, proper difficulty and moves.
Few parts with little double steps but that's ok.

Lamento

The chart is good. Slow crossovers, little 16th notes, freezes, good stuff.
Only one part i had to double step (tap-tap-jump. I was on crossovers then meh. But that's ok on that speed and kind of part).
Double Expert (8)
Moves and rythms are good.
I was disaponted to see the same kind of freezes near the beginning (i mean, same freeze in expert-single chart).
Some notes or shorter freezes who follow the lyrics for this chart could made some variety.

Maria's song

Eh that was a funny hand/freeze part. Nice.
For the other part... i know it's because of the song itself, but it's a bit boring.
That chart isn't bad.

More a 4 feet to me.
Chart was cool.
Btw, the last freeze should should be shorter (same for teh challenge chart).

Except for one double step part at the beginning, the other parts are ok.
It's hard to make a stepchart for this song imo. I think if i had too, i would have been something similar.

Not too much things too say at this level.
Chart was ok but you should change the freeze part a bit (this could follow the background noice. Cause for me, this follow nothing :s).

Pacman
Expert (9)
The song is a bit long (cause it's repetitive sometimes). But you mde some variation on steps : galops, crossover part, non crossover part, ect.
The freeze near the end are fun.
The gimmicks (stops) are not bad. Like every things like that, it's not possible to FC the first time. But on the second try, that was very easy.
Imo, the second gimmick part should look alike the first one, so people will recognize the gimmick part before this one starts.

I FC'd the first one because it's easy to remember. I fucked up the 2nd because he does not look like the 1st one.
I fucked up the 3rd (last one) too.
You should have use 16th note + little freeze for the 3 parts (because the idea for the first gimmick part was good).

Some parts are surprising on a sightread. I liked the "lag" part, good stuff.
Some double steps.
The stops are hard to time but fits with the song.
A rythm a little bit different for the beginning could have be better.
You did some interesting stuff on this chart with teh lags, stops, bpm changes. Good work because it's not so easy to do.
It's not perfect for now but that was great to see that kind of stuff in this pack.

Ah this could be realy good without LOT of double steps.
The gimmicks was interesting, the rythm too.
Maybe something for indicate the little bpm change (one gimmick so) could be helpfull.
How do you test your songs, keyboard i guess (same for me). But, you play spread (4 fingers) right ?

Those were intended to be spins, as none of my charts have intended double steps unless they're jackhammers or during a freeze arrow (though I'm not sure some of them are reasonably doable as otherwise [like 200 BPM 8th streams with spins and crossovers] for a few of my currently unreleased files).

I find it ironic that people found the chart understepped when that was one of the few songs I've stepped that I couldn't really see as being that hard.

Hmm ok, so next time i'll review one of your file, if i see a double step, i'll try to do spin.
It's just, that i don't like spins. I double step that, except if i play for fun and nobar (frozen ray or true love for exemple).

There is so many part of the songs, that could be harder. Some of them are maybe a little on the background. But some other are obvious (huge 24th run).

I'll do a chart and post it here. I hope some of you will take a look.
(This reminds me when i re-steped basilik mine field (ninja gaiden). The one who did it for the Nes Colab was ok. But some sounds wasn't used, i was pretty sad. So i made my own chart).

Edit : Also there is a sync problem is your chart it seems. The first part is late.

I can't do spins very well either (I'm not sure I've even doe an 8th spin without combo breaking), but I know that if I can do spins better I'll have less issues with doing excessive amounts of double stepping, especially since I used to not even crossover (which made Under the Sky annoying).
I put the spins toward the end of the Heavy chart mainly because without them that part would be just about as hard as the Standard chart (which was made first).

Now that I think about it, I do see how the chart could be significantly harder, but I have two simfiles to try to finish for this week, so I definitely can't do a Challenge chart now.

As far as being off-sync, is the beat actually off at the beginning, or does it seem that the arrows are wrongly placed? If it's off-sync, then there's likely a local sync issue on one of our ends, because I didn't have any issues timing it when playing it on keyboard with headphones on, and I don't think the song changes BPM since that would have likely thrown the end off if anything.

I'm almost sure it's offsycn. Maybe you have full marvelous when you play with the keyboard but sometimes we forgot something : the keyboard/computer have a delay.

I checked the bpm, it's the corect one. Your beats are correct too. It's just that the arrows are like 40ms late (not sure about the exact thing. I tried with 40ms change and it went ok.).

Btw, the song is stuck in my head right now xD I spent like 1h30 on the edit mod with this song ahaha.
