Hottest party 5 rated 16 thats weird for a ddr game that's like a T rating here in the states. Anyone know why it's rated 16?
DDR II is rated E 10+, well below a PEGI 12 rating. Unless there's something culturally specific to Europe that makes this game inappropriate to anyone below the age of consent.
I still want to believe that this means the song selection really IS slightly different for hottest party 5, like I pointed out earlier (Even if it goes against my argument for a unified tracklist, it would at least be hella cool). Even though it is highly more likely that this is just a ratings blunder.
I'm willing to put money that the track listing is exactly the same.

I thought that we'd established by now that the track list was the same, at least until proven otherwise? Seeing as all four previous Wii games have been the same in both regions, I see little reason for that to change now.
I'm still wondering what in the game could garner that high a rating.
Dancing Stage SuperNOVA has a bloody 3+ rating and it had a heavily edited version of t.A.T.u's All The Things She Said video including the word "shit" in the lyrics!

Or they intentionally want a higher rating to appeal to teens. Does that tactic ever work for games?

That would make no sense for a dancing game seeing as these types of rhythm games are seen as largely appealing to girls from 6 to 12, even though the fanbase is mostly older males.
See I could see that working for something like Guitar Hero, but even they censor stuff to ensure a low enough rating to sell (a 12). Just Dance is purposefully censored to achieve a 3 and past games have often gotten a 3.
I can't see the logic behind Konami purposefully going for a higher rating.
EDIT: Having looked back at HP4, I actually like the songlist more than I thought I would. I might actually pick that up instead of this if I can.

The PEGI website doesn't even have an entry for hottest party 5. Have they not even rated this thing? So maybe the 16 is just a placeholder graphic, just to play it safe. Better to guess too high than too low?

It's actually kind of funny to see a boxart like that with a higher rating that some more "mature" games.
DANCING GAMES ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS
EDIT: Wait, it's totally obvious! PEGI saw that poor girls face on the front and understandably assumed that the game encouraged drug use! Instant rating boost.

I believe upcoming games are not shown on the site, but do have a rating.

I thought it worked like the ESRB. Where games are rated well in advance of their release.

They are, but I'm not sure how PEGI operates with providing individual game information online.

Oh. In the ESRB's case a lot of American games have been confirmed when ratings have shown up on the their website.

Bare in mind that unlike the ESRB PEGI don't have full control over game ratings in all European countries. In fact I read that they fought with the BBFC for being able to always rate games in the UK and the same is often true of other rating boards. As an example, both of the first SingStar games are BBFC rated (PG), but from then on PEGI did it.
Karaoke Revolution Glee was BBFC (PG) and Karaoke Revolution (2009) was PEGI (12).
I think that it doesn't help how many different countries, and therefore different cultures, are involved. This is probably why not much gets leaked; PEGI don't have as much influence or control over the ratings so most of the time nothing is leaked until release.

I really wish that I can mod it , but alas , I'm just a kid . ~__~
One of the oldest DDR mods you can do for a softpad is to staple the it to a board of plywood. It should be much more stable after that. Just be sure to staple on the fabric and not the plastic or it might not work.
(edit: Ignore this post. When I click on the link for this, I put me on page 88. I think I was trying to be helpful. Noob mistake.) -_-;

When are we going to see the simfiles for DDR II? Been waiting for them since the release of the game and getting just a little impatient

1) Welcome to the site.
2) http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewthread.php?threadid=4398&page=1
3) You might have to wait just a bit more since HP5 is coming out soon in the Europe region, and seeing that we really want to SUPPORT KONAMI FOR THEIR EFFORTS TO THIS GAME BY BUYING THE GAME rather than playing it on Stepmania henceforth making Konami not turn a reasonable profit for this series which i really think there should be more wait at least until the end of the month to give out the simfiles just to give it a kick good kick start since release date.

@DDRFanatik: Surely if you are that impatient for the simfiles you can go out to your nearest store that sells the game and purchase it for yourself, right? RIGHT!!??

The funniest part to me about the currently known rating for this game is it is the equivalent to Team Fortress 2's PEGI rating (when it's put that way it makes things even more twisted).Post #4138 · Posted at 2011-10-30 04:28:02am 13.7 years ago

Just got this game last night. The second half of ZETA's short stepchart/~3:40 in the long one stands out as one of those "hey, let's add a bunch of jumps really close together when there's nothing in the music that would prompt a player to want to do such a thing" sections that seems to be getting way too common in hard songs. Really screws up otherwise fun charts.

I didn't realise that there was an embargo on newly released games in the simfile community? I always assumed it was just however soon all the songs were completed.
It's not like Stepmania's popularity somehow significantly affects DDR's sales; Konami's done that themselves.

Everyone's free to make whatever simfiles they want. I ripped and released the MP3s the day after the game's launch, and all the materials are out there for anyone who wants to do the work.
Brazen has already done the work, but hasn't uploaded them to ZIV yet, because he'd personally rather wait until simfiles can't possibly affect the sales of the game, before putting them out there himself.
