DanceDanceRevolution X (PS2) (North America)

Since I haven't posted a lot here since I bought it on Wednesday, I do believe that the charts here were far superior than last years sloppy SN2. It felt DDR-current, which feels like each song had some sort of theme to it, rather than adding a bunch of streams and voila your done. The songlist is fine. The KO's oddly beats out the ones we had from SN2, but I feel as there's a huge gap through the licensed songs. Honestly, I dont like how konami or whoever now transplanted the UM licensed artists to here. (*cough*Alien Six and whats it face... Neuropa*cough-*) Sorry, but honestly, I feel as though it'd be cool if there'd be some licenses where its songs that we know like some Rihanna or some Jason Nevins remix or whatever. That, for me, would make the licensed feel a bit more balanced and diverse, rather than keeping around some generic boring electro music like We Come Alive, Make Me Cry, and Feel. Ya know?

But it's a good point; songs on the master list sometimes hang in limbo for a long time. Usually licenses though.

since im a master at this game let me see if i can shed some light on this, have you gotten the the "collection box" info "only the 1st song..." and only the 1st song...AGAIN..." you gotta fail your first song in the former, and for the second one you gotta fail your 1st song 5 times in a row >_>

Yup, there's a bunch of Dancemania songs (Mostly from the EX series as I recall) that are on the disc that were added in the last few years that never made it.

DDR needs more Domino. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Once I figure out which ones I'm missing... and I sorta don't like Julio's story where it forces you to get a B or a C for the correct multiple choice answer...

DDR should have more eurobeat, period.

Better than SN2 KOs? I can't say I agree with that. I mean Saber Wing, Trigger, and On the Bounce may be good songs but compared to Poseidon, AtcLOVE, Pluto, and Shades of Grey they aren't anything special.

First Impressions anyway are: the announcer is extremely annoying. The step-charts, however, for the boss songs are much better. I would agree that SN2 boss songs were just too much. The new grading system needs getting used to but it's pretty easy to understand after that. Although, I'd imagine it'd be tedious to convert all the older ratings into the current one. The excessive amount of licenses is unnecessary. All in all, it's pretty solid with not-so-special songs and good step-charts. Taj He Spitz, however, is just terrible.

tl;dr Good but not better than SN2.

I didn't AA'd many songs and I got them, so It's not like you said. I mean, I managed to get Pluto with a B rank, for the example.

And, I played through Gus's story and I didn't unlock Disco's story. Is it because I need to finish Julio's story, cause thats my (second to) final one.

Some of the SMM information is wrong. I believe you need to beat a specific amount of stories to get Louis-Concent's story, and you definitely need to beat all of the other stories to unlock Disco's.
