If they can cut the price down by removing those, I don't mind. But if they remove them and still charge $18k it will suck.

Well, for that price, I could actually save up for a year, and buy one.OR I could save up for a year, and build 6 stepmania/CF based machines like what I use at home.

I've read in several places that people who buy cabinets for themselves often end up regretting it. Apparently it's easy to get tired of them pretty quickly when you have one available to you all the time rather than just visiting an arcade once in a while. Probably not worth the thousands of dollars.
I just stick with the arcades. Though with X, that passion is dying pretty quickly. X2 better be amazing.

SM isn't the real thing (unless you display the image on a TV screen, is that real enough?), but you can have whatever songs you want and you only need to buy a pad because you already own a monitor. Plus, you'd have to clear out a lot more space for an arcade cabinet.

SD cards eh? well there are media hubs you can buy for the PC and I have one in my tower, so no biggie for me. I'm just glad they're allowing us to have step edits without having to use a Japanese game.
