While this is true, I think DDR needs a new sound director. Someone who would only be in charge of DDR (TAG is also part the staff of DanceEvolution and pop'n music), and that is competent enough to provide the game with a steady influx of new songs/events, either by composing the songs by himself or by commissioning them.

Too bad U1 can't return to the DDR staff because he's sound director for Future Tom Tom. I'd say, he did a good job with the CS DDR games for much of the time. Too bad dj TAKA can't come back either because of similar reasons. He was one of the reasons DDR X2 was awesome.

Is he a sound director?

I just did some research on VJ Army after I sent that post you quoted and I believe he was for the original SOUND VOLTEX and for 12 of the first 13 beatmania IIDX games. While he's not sound directing currently, he'd be my pick to replace TAG as sound director.

I'm still salty about the Konami/RoXor thing but I know this isn't the thread for that. I just can't get excited for DDR anymore. The last time I really, really wanted to play a DDR was when X2 was coming out. Before that, it was SuperNOVA.

It seems like some sort of Sim City-ish, which if you can get more people to live in the building, you get new songs...
You need to clear specific song(s) each day to get more people...

Maybe the song is unlocked when the building is maxed and to unlock more you have to complete more buildings. It's probably going to work like the My Groove Radar, maybe with different requirements...

I don't see how it is a "pointless gimmick" considering DDR has been routinely holding events like this to unlock songs dating as far back as the days of ZUKIN WARS on SN2.

I'm just happy to see new songs, I hope there will be some originals.

Jumping the gun, aren't we? I'd wait until the event starts to pass judgment on it, this "pointless gimmick" may actually yield something substantial.
