DanceDanceRevolution (AC) (Japan)

How were they received in Japan? Has this mix done anything to change the perception of or appreciation for DDR?

I'd be really interested in finding out how well received they actually were amongst their target demographic, because in theory, it was a really good idea to have DDR fans "support" their prefecture, by promoting songs from local artists.

I heard that コネクト will be removed next week... also that there will be a new event. No high expectations this time but still hoping there'll be -actual- new songs. C'mon, DDR... pls don't jinx it ppl

Oh man that image is perfect.

As much as I love Connect, the DDR cover is just.
Why.

About 4 days ago I went to the Timezone in Queen Street (under Burger King, in my arcade locations) in Auckland, New Zealand to check out the DDR2014 machine they had there for a limited time (3 weeks). I really enjoyed playing the new songs there!

Under the game version code was a message that said something like "LOCATION TEST VERSION" meaning that
there could be some cool things happening in the future

The machine had the GUMI songs but in terms of 2014 content I couldn't see anything else. I'm not sure if the EXTRA ATTACK songs were there.

Despite this it was awesome getting to play what is most likely the first DDR2014 machine in New Zealand!

So, the newest update for DanceDanceRevolution 2014 happened last night.

As reported earlier, the Connect cover was removed, and the Oni Extra Attack event ended.

The only other thing updated was this image that now shows up before selecting Extra Stage:



And that's it.

Also, as mentioned on Outphase, the button on the DDR website's menu bar with the question marks, that was assumed to be about TAG PLAY, has been removed, though it is unknown how long ago this was.

Things are going downhill for DDR incredibly fast.

I like to think we've hit the bottom. There's no way they can screw this release up any further.....right?

Another Challenge chart event will definately make it worse.

At this point I feel DDR needs another hiatus the size of Extreme - SuperNOVA in order to you know, not die.

They need a new artist to bring in content for them like Naoki used to. Hell, why can't they just turn to doujin artists and do song contests like they do for about 90% of Sound Voltex's content? Clearly that's working well, so why not apply it to other games?
