I think it looks awesome, but it's obvious that they were given raw materials to work with, rather than an existing engine.

I don't know about you, but I'm happy about that. Unlike those shitty Universe games on 360, this game's frame rate never ever drops no matter how many things are on the screen. It was unacceptable for next-gen hardware to still lag behind PS2 when it came to running DDR smoothly. With this interface, they took a giant leap forward by making sure everything runs smoothly. I for one can't wait to play some good old classic songs in this new interface.

For the next release, they should just work on making a better soundtrack. This game has plenty of new KOs, and most of them are good. But very few of them are great. And there's not an abundance of them either. They should also put back edit mode and doubles and other things that have become staples in the home versions. With those things, I'd have some DDR gold. I can't wait to see what DLC brings to the table.

I hope the next version has a much BETTER looking interface than this...
...and a better license list and new KO's and the ABILITY TO TRANSFER DLC FROM DDR1 to DDR2 (i can already see a DanceDanceRevolution 2 in the works).

My point is, things like Edit Mode, Doubles Mode and Judgement Graphics are missing, because they built a DDR game from the from the ground up, without realising that these things are important to existing players.
I think we can chalk the lack of Doubles Mode up to the fact that the game uses raw materials from the Wii game, which means they weren't given any Doubles steps to use, and probably didn't consider the mode important enough to write their own steps, or request steps from Konami?

I can't argue with that I guess. The lack of Doubles is weird. And the lack of Edit is unfortunate because it would have been nice to download user-made edits, or even Konami-made edits...

In regards to the videos earlier, Basically this game has a built in video recording mode for you to record and upload videos?

I believe so. The last trophy on the list is to upload a video. It most likely requires the Eye accessory.

Max and Max 2 made up most of my time in DDR.
IMO, DDR can never be as good as it was between 4th Mix and Extreme.
*sighs* those were the good old days

DDR 4th Mix Plus disagrees with you :
Also, if you happen to go back in time to 2002, can you let us know that in 8 years, we still have new DDR games, and get to see "Naoki vs Smile.dk" and Konami artists remixing Dancemania songs? Oh, and Uh La La La won't be the hardest song in DDR anymore
I imagine we'd be pretty excited! Don't tell us that DDR has a deal with Avex, and gets to use songs from Super Eurobeat and original versions of anime openings, though. That might blow our minds.

This game takes quite a bit longer to unlocks songs then the Wii version. Give it a day or so.

I'm sorry, but the majority of it was shit.

Sure, you'll bring out the classics like So Deep , but in general, it wasn't THAT awesome.

The other boss song is CRAZY♥LOVE / jun
WHAT!
I thought that the two boss songs would be different, or there would be more than 2 boss songs/ I expected PS3 DDR to have SOME different songs than Wii DDR!

The song list is probably going to be EXACTLY the same as the Wii version.
Also, I unlocked another hidden trophy if anyone is interested or keeping tabs. It goes between "FULL COMBO (EXPERT)" and "FIRST GREAT FULL COMBO" on the trophy list.
FULL COMBO (CHALLENGE)
Pull off a FULL COMBO with difficulty set to CHALLENGE.
