DDR X2 (AC) (International)

I really don't think anything special will happen for clearing Valkyrie on Encore. Nothing has ever happened before on older mixes for clearing Encore stage (unless you count ending credits).

Aaron from aaroninjapan went through some time to compile a list of all the unlocks on DDR X2. That can be found here.

He also made a list to show the groove radar values comparing DDR X and X2. That can be found here.

But older mixes didn't even have secret Extra Stage systems or a ton of unlocks you can receive for AAAing certain songs or playing songs on certain days, etc etc.

Are there any more song unlocks? I know that the list was posted, but if there are unlocks, I don't want to spoil myself.

No, you can only get medals from playing RDA songs on Expert.

I got POSSESSION medal even though i haven't AA it on . Weird.

I guess it must be the weird bug (for the patch 2010053101) where the medals will randomly appear.

So after the patch (2010071201) the random medal will stuck & treating it as i've "passed" POSSESSION i guess.

Yes, the random medals have been confirmed as a bug in the older versions.

In Taiwan, the following will happen during your first play on the patched cabinet:
1. The difficulty counter for charts will be reset, so no matter how many charts you had played on an old firmware, you must fulfill the requirement (a total difficulty of 100 on charts) all over again to unlock POSSESSION.
2. The counter for Welcome Play will also be reset.
3. Finally, the medals will be reset after the patch, even if you haven't (and shouldn't have) played VD.

So after the patch, the medals should be reset, and I have no idea why this is happening.

before the update patch, i've played over 140+ of oni but no POSSESSION. After the patch, POSSESSION still missing, but after i played a few more oni chart, i got POSSESSION. So maybe it didn't reset after all.

Maybe they patched the patch so it doesn't reset your medals anymore.

Slight update. I actually made some edit data to take to the arcade to unlock the two songs in X2 you get from doing that "real-high-SPEED" and "in love wit you" from DDRX CS JP. As it turns out, you don't need to have edit data for those two songs specifically to unlock them; just use any edit data. If you don't want to have to use your USB clip drive each time though, you have to pass one of your edits and store it on your eAmuse account (you get the prompts to do this at the end of the game)

Technically speaking, Fire Fire and 888 were time unlocks, so yes, in a way.

Well no, those are time unlocks as long as you are connected to e-AMUSE.

Yeah I guess to avoid operators setting the time to fit the unlocks.
I don't even think you can set the date on the BemaniPC. I think only the time is adjustable.

The unlocks are synced to Japan's time. Even the arcade machines in Hong Kong, which is 1 hour behind Japan, has 888 unlocked at 7am/7pm local time instead of 8am/8pm.

So it ultimately depends on which e-AMUSE server they are connected on.

888 is only supposed to be unlocked for the month of August. I'm not sure if it goes away in September and will be back later as a separate unlock or what. I don't think they plan on scrapping it like "Beautiful Life" on SN1, though that was a time-limited song used to promote a movie (a terrible movie, I might add)
