Just FYI: the Week 2 pack does not include the video for Whenever Wherever. Please download the custom ZIP for that file. I will add it to the pack post.
I can't decide what my next simfile should be. I cut three songs.
1. A 115 BPM alt-rock song from a band with a couple major hits from a few years ago. A somewhat moderate mood. Length 1:56.
2. A 90 BPM 80s-style pop song from a one-hit wonder who has gained a cult following. Length 2:01.
3. A 120 BPM alt-rock song from the same band mentioned above. An uptempo sound. Beats seem a little irregular but still in sync. Length 2:06.
I can post the cuts if it would help.

Assuming the 90 BPM one is LA Hallucinations by CRJ, you should do that one.

I was kinda leaning towards that one, but I don't want DDR Platinum to have too many female vocalists. I'd like it to be nearly balanced between male/female vocalists since I have a bias towards females.
Although it's basically taking Break Free's spot (thanks Konami) so it's not a huge deal.
Also, bumping this to the current page.

Just as long as it's not more Las Vegas songs, cause I have a bad feeling everyone's gonna jump on that and I don't need to be reminded of how much fun this place is again.

Why do I get the feeling I started a "trend" or something (as I was the first one uploading a song regarding Vegas)

Hi.
Here's my votes. Everything in HMs are stuff I'm pretty sure I'd give points to (especially the higher half) if they appeared in a round with WAY less files.
Simfiles
Song choices (NEW!!)
Good work to everyone once again.
The notes for the files are over here yet again. You just gotta scroll down. I might consider making a part 2 document if it gets too large.
Some other notes:
*I feel like by the time the file count enters the threshold of 30 files, the amount of points you can give should be increased. 23 HMs is ridiculous and I especially wanted to give points to the first 10 but I wanted to actually impact the totals somewhat this time.
*Please be careful when patterning; While sometimes doublesteps are forgivable, at high speeds there are just things that don't make for pad files.
*If you aren't at least somewhat bopping to it when you hear it, chances are very likely the song you choose isn't suitable for stepping.
*Exactly half of the individual users this week submitted two files (28 + 14 = 42). Kinda interesting. But it does make for a very large week; I'm pretty sure no one played all of these within one session.

Played all files. Could have probably distributed my votes more spread out, but I had so much fun on these four I'm going to just boost them.
River +5
My favorite out of the bunch. Good stuff DJXYZ
Portrait of the Pirate F +5
DDRStepper, I did find the previous file you did for [Show and Tell] quite nice, but this song plus the chart made it easily a close 2nd for me.
Problem +3
A lot of fun. Iggy Azalea's part was pretty intense but manageable.
Paradisus-Paradoxum +2
This track reminded me of the old school boss songs from DDR mixed with some of the ITG mindset for good fun.

I usually review the highest level chart only, sometimes dipping lower. To anywhere I didn't mention it: Please try not to start on ups or downs since they're easy to interpret incorrectly, this isn't a critical issue but I prefer the contrary. Also if you had a video, I appreciated it greatly if you made a seperate zip - this didn't affect the reviews but my internet sucks so I wanted to throw that out there. Alsoalso there are no names by the files because I don't want to know who's behind the charts/how many votes they have before voting.
Due to the size of this round the blurbs were short, if you want a fuller review please PM me. I don't think I'm going to submit for a couple of weeks because this is still too far many files to review for me lol, and I've got nothing for this week (this is because if I submit something I want to review too - I might still review anyway but idk)
Special thanks to Cuzco for having a code block nice and close for me to copy.

Tomadoi Mischief [xXMokou98Xx] - 1
Hopefully I didn't screw anything up with the scoring (besides my chart, ayyyyyyyy).
EDIT: Thanks again Cuzco, knew I messed something up there.
WELCOME TO REVIEW HELL (Use ctrl-f since it's unformatted)
---------------------------------------
2 On - A couple of transitions off holds towards the middle and end that seemed to be on the wrong foot because of rhetoric earlier on, the 16ths on the rolling vocals was contentious but I can understand the intent. Still strong regardless.
About To Fly - Patterns were good but the song was a bit repetitive. Occasionally some of the patterns seemed to go to things that I couldn't hear (mostly in expert) so it was a bit strange partially overstepping and partially understepping the 9.
Anklebiters - So many crossovers! Some of the transitions off of jumps are a bit rough at this speed and some of the spin patterns feel a bit off, follow where you'd be facing from beat 96, for example.
Big Boss - Good rhetoric in a lot of the spots where you emphasized stuff, but the 8 still felt me wanting more - there were some spots where you could have followed other audio cues. An expert chart would have complimented this really well. Some of the jump holds felt possibly off (might be my setup though?)
Bury it - Great use of double taps, some of the vocal emphasizing holds were a bit long though. Starting on a down can lead to some ambiguity on higher speed mods on what foot to start with, otherwise solid.
Common World Domination - (no review, I made this)
Disco Night - A few missed opportunities during the quarter note parts, and a few points in which the hold use seems inconsistent, but a very solid song and chart. Not a ton to say since it all works cleanly.
Do it all Night - The part with the vocals before what I think it the chorus could have been spiced up a bit more than just an 8th run, also I'm not sure what you're following with the gallop-16th pattern in the end. Again, this might be a sound quality issue but this feels a bit arbitrary.
Do the thing - Excellent. Only thing I can say is that maybe you could have done a bit more sound emphasis in the part right before halfway with a lot of jumps and added some decorative rolls for some of the wub sounds but tbh that's nitpicky.
Drop FM - Very complex layering, at a few points I was confused if you were following the lyrics or not but it ended up working out well. Great mine/hold use, but some of the jumps felt a bit excessive. In addition I think the cut would have been better without some of the stuff towards the end (the jumpy part in particular). Solid chart though.
Harmonia - Some of the crossovers an jumps felt a bit random but the chart was solidly made. Whilee this is a good song it wouldn't have been my first choice to chart since I'd hope for a bit more going on, if that makes sense.
Headbanger - Not sure how I feel about the crossovers at the end of CHA and about a third of the way in the triplets on the girls' lyrics were an odd choice but overall it worked well. Another good song choice, and HEA was solid.
Hello, Hello - The doubletaps on the hellos were nice but inconsistently used, and there were more opportunities for consistency in patterns you could have used. Some of the transitions out of the jumps looked a bit uncomfortable for people around this level. I think the offset might be off but maybe you were syncing to itg standards?
Hoshi - At the very end you missed a few notes that could have ben stepped. 24ths at 160 probably don't belong in an 11 and I'm not sure if the crossovers were added in for some extra challenge. Most else worked well, for a 12.
Hung Up - Great song choice for an easy chart. Changing up the repeating 8th triplet patterns to not being a repeat felt a bit jarring. You could have done something with with the dododo dododo sound you hear in the song preview because while the chart was technically solid it didn't quite stand out to me, but I imagine this isn't made for me so ymmv.
Ignite - What a rough 8 - solid chart all around, a bit too many crossovers (imo) after the first half of the song but they seemed to go to audio cues well so they're in fair taste. Great use of holds too.
I Want You To Know - First off, good stop use. The biggest thing that stood out was that I'm not sure what your doublesteps are following, mostly in the first half of the song. There are a few points where you overstep which is a bit strange for a 7, with 16th runs to boot. Solid effort though.
Kind Lady - Good for a chill chart, however the crossover use seemed inconsistent, and the hold with 3 quarter parts had the issue of having to hold with the same foot, making the chart imbalanced in which feet are used, or at least it seems like the chart is signaling this, which would make it very hard to follow.
Llanfiar - Doublecheck your crossovers, I think there may be some errors there. I didn't really like the roll use since the tones of the vocals felt similar, or in some cases the rolls seemed to go to nothing but not be decoration. Most of the rest was fine though. Also, raise the audio volume for next time, this song was very quiet compared to the rest of the pack.
Longin For U - The speedup part was a bit hard to read for me (the stop part was cool though). Having the break have a lot of crossovers made it feel a bit less like a break. The stream patterning was good though, and this probably took guts to submit so kudos there.
Look Alike - The rhetoric in the first third of the song or so was really cool, wish it could have continued (the pattern of crossover use most specifically). You could have also used some more holds or direction facing with the music to bring this to the next level but it worked well.
Neon Twilight - Wow, this was also really good. I couldn't hear what the gallop pairs at the end were going to though. Otherwise, the rhetoric was stellar and this honestly made me feel bad about my stuff to this point. Kudos.
No Light No Light - In a few points, most notably near the beginning you missed a lyric or two in the 8 when you were only karaoke stepping. Aside from that I think the song choice was the primary limiter here, there weren't too many opportunities to really stand out but the chart works pretty well for what you do have.
Paradisus - The double-box patterns worked very well. Didn't really like the 400+ bpm gimmick much though, it didn't seem to jive to the song much in my opinion. Technically it was reasonably solid as well. Could make for an interesting boss song somewhere, nice song choice.
Pick Me - Stellar job on the chorus, helped by a great song choice. The beginning could have used a bit more, maybe a different cut of the song. Jumps after the lound zappy sounds was an interesting choice, I would have kept up the jumps like you did in the very beginning to keep things consistent.
Ponku 2 Girlish - I looked at this song for my Missed Connections match! I think the ending could have halved back into 100 bpm since the song loses its baseline, and the gallop parts felt a bit odd not fully stepped, which considering you went with a 9 makes sense I suppose. Good hold use too.
Portrait of the Pirate F - Great song! Well done overall, the lyrics are a tough nut to crack and I feel like there may have been parts that weren't precisely on the 16ths, that's the risk you're running with this song choice. In addition, some 8th note runs could have been fleshed out with some 16ths (near the beginning and end).
Problem - I think halving the BPM would have served this one better, it doesn't feel 206 bpm. Furthermore, the hold only slow part could have been further slowed down. It felt slightly overstepped even on the 8 but some parts like the use of jacks were really cute. Hold use in the 9 was solid as well.
Recorrection - Interesting song choice, solid steps. Part of me would have wanted some 32nds or something to some of the trilly sounds but that might have ended up being a bit of a mess. Not a ton to say about this one, things seemed to work well and it didn't drag on.
Reverse - You should have forced reverse with an attack. In all seriousness, towards the end, the use of crossovers to accent the raise of voice was very cool but the ending crossovers diminished the impact of it a bit. Good hold use as well, and the transitions between karaoke parts felt smooth. The ups and downs after the later L-R jumps were a strange read though.
Ride - Some of the best rhetoric in a 6 I've ever seen. Even at this level, the Ludacris rapping probably could have used some 16ths to accentuate some of it. Not filling this up with crossovers to compensate for the low BPM felt smart, good choice there.
River - Great stop use, and good use of crossovers with the woahohoh type lyrics. I wasn't the biggest fan of the scrolls since sometimes they didn't feel like they went with the song that well. Occasionally on the heavy sounds that weren't in runs, there weren't jumps, those could've been added in for consistency.
Run The World - Very technical, so much so that it turned out to be a really difficult read trying to pad it without a fair few doublesteps, even hard wasn't as straightforward as I expected. The slowdown sounds like it might need some holds but it might just be me. Cute stops, although they were a tough sightread as well.
Sapurimal Diet - Straightforward and consistent, a solid effort. One thing that threw me for a loop was the offbeat part right before the halfway mark, was that because the vocals were on the offbeats? Towards the end I think the exxtra ccrossovers felt a bit unneeded but it didn't seem to throw anything off.
Stay Awake - Excellent song, good use of double taps. The lyrics being "sometimes" overstepped was a bit tough to follow at points, and I think the spins early on could be dropped without much impact to the rest of the song. Preference choice on my end but I tend to like following the patterns that are in the song but it ended up still working out fine.
Suzy - Excellent song here too. Nice job in the center when you were following the instrumentals, and good use of (well marked) footswitches as well. I'm not sure what some of the double gallops in the beginning and end were to, and in the center part you missed some chances to add 24ths and abovve to really spice things up if you wanted to. Well patterned, and I liked the slowdown too.
Tears - Did not make me cry tears. Good use of holds and the layering was rather well done. Occasionally the layering does make the chart a bit hard to understand where it's going which would probably be my biggest issue.
TIEFSEE - Very good stuff here. The transition off the stop felt a bit wierd and I'm not sure if the triple 16ths into the holds was wholly needed but this chart was among the top of the top of this round, with a good song choice to boot.
Tomadoi Mischef - Seems like you were going for something chill here the song worked really well for that intention, special note to the good use of 16ths on the 7. The song acts as kind of a blessing and a curse in that there's not quite as much to go off of as other entries have but it was nonetheless a good show.
Turn it into Love - It would have been cool if you made a turn on each "turn" in the lyrics but that's not here nor there anymore. I think another song might have been a better choice since there really wasn't a lot to do with this one but what is here worked well.
Whenever, Wherever - This felt good for the most part but I feel like some of the gallops when Shakira was singing were a bit offsync, and in addition, watch your crossovers, I think a couple of them leaves the player in an awkward position to be able to react well to the next steps. Not a bad attempt though.

The ending of Let's Dance, Boys! needs some explaining.
It was 100% intentional to have the player turn around at the end. It's a sort of "photo finish" moment, whereas the player ends facing outward from the "machine", where there would be people watching/waiting in line. It's not the only song I do that on...

@warpdrive
Thank you for the detailed comments, they are definitely appreciated.
I think what I meant to do with "Whenever, Wherever" was to switch the steps to the background rhythm every once in a while. If I play the song again with fresh ears, though, I realize that in some cases it's not obvious and the vocals don't line up with the steps. In particular I found a couple in measures 25 & 26. Actually, it seems like there's quite a few. That's what I get for rushing it out the door... I wanted to put something together quickly Sunday night that wasn't already in an official DDR release.
In "I Want You To Know", by double step do you mean slides or using the same foot twice in a row? If you mean same foot, I was going for emphasizing either the note being sung doesn't change or the word not changing, eg "kno-ow", "ag-ain", but maybe that effect didn't work as well as I thought it did. I don't think any foot slides are necessary, but some steps require twisting left foot -> and right foot <-. Is that usually well received, or not really?

I don't think any foot slides are necessary, but some steps require twisting left foot -> and right foot <-. Is that usually well received, or not really?

So is there anyway you guys can throw me in. My laptop went to shit and I've been caught up in a toxic relationship so it took a while before I finally got things fixed up.

It's my file. It always has to be my file. Why.
It's like, the most low quality cut of River! And it's like half the song! Come on!
So you'll pick that out over Bury It? Done. I really hate MediaFire.
