I somewhat agree.

Though I think there are some recent examples of songs you could imagine in older games: You Were the One, One of a Kind, etc.

I really miss a lot of the amazing English vocal songs in IIDX. And I do agree that the hardcore genre is explored way too much, but then again, a lot of people in the IIDX community seem to be fans of the genre so I guess I can't blame them. Just responding to the demand.

On a serious note?

I'm unhappy with Konami's decision to go from stuff like こっちを向いてよ and Mr T (Take me Higher) to all this j-hardcore completely un-dancable noise.

Because no one listens to IIDX songs outside of IIDX?

Heaven forbid someone wanting songs they can dance or sing along too easily. Not completely agreeing with his point that post 10th style IIDX music sucks, but there is a case to be made that the musical direction of IIDX has become a bit too involved with hardcore.

While I will say that I'm not that big on SCJ2 (and what the hell kind of name is that anyway?), and that I do miss the older, more R&B-ish songs, I personally do like a good amount of the newer songs. (Although You Were The One is the only recent good-cool song I like; everything else after Sense 2007 I don't like as much.)
But yes, there is more hardcore in IIDX than I'd like there to be.
And that's all I have to say on the matter.

But like I said though, I really can't blame them since the IIDX 'base' seems to be into that kind of music. Regardless, every IIDX game usually has a lot of tracks that I like.

I also agree that there's been a huge amount of weight more to hardcore genres than the older IIDX versions (especially with LED handling the last few styles). The variety is still there, especially with Tricoro.

I'd love to see another house/rave style 12 like Sense 2007 again.

I agree with Tiger PTS to a degree, but I happen to like hardcore music, so it all works out.

It like HELL SCAPER all over again. The chart looks decent but the song is too hardcore. I should have expected an Extra Stage song by L.E.D. or Nekomata Master but they chose DJ TECHNORCH.

^ ...but L.E.D. does hardcore music anyways....

I sort of agree with Tiger of PTS, I don't like the direction that IIDX took from IIDX RED onwards. There are still good songs on every style though.

However I like TECHNORCH songs, so I can't complain about Sol Cosine Job 2

Also, about the whole "beatmania has too much hardcore!!!1!!1one" thing, I still do like how diverse it sounds, despite most of it falling under the "hardcore" genre. Though I'd love to see more stuff in the style of Beach-Side Bunny or Praludium.
