(sorry my measure counts are different)

No kidding, I've had to adjust all of the charts you've posted to match what gets uploaded.

SThe simfile looks to have a 16th left, up, left, then a 16th break, then a freeze on the down arrow, but the actual chart is just 4 16ths left, up, left, and then the down arrow freeze.

I didn't look at the rest of the chart, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBu7xxSRQkw confirms the mistake.

in my defense, I got the audio and original SM files from this thread. Not my fault someone went and changed the offsets for measure 1 after the fact Tongue

"Thanks for all your support."

Be Your Wings' sm file updated, added D-EXPERT stepchart (neotheone).

In a standard simfile, the first note should start at measure 5 in the editor (4 measures distance from the beginning) or measure 9 (8 measures distance from the beginning), depending on the length of song's intro.

Small note, but the ending to "Sky is the Limit" on Expert looks to need correction. The simfile looks to have a 16th left, up, left, then a 16th break, then a freeze on the down arrow, but the actual chart is just 4 16ths left, up, left, and then the down arrow freeze. I just noticed this because I was practicing on PSP Revolution on the way to the arcade and the real chart ending caught my attention.

fixed. thanks for noticing. Wink

Did you fix S-EXPERT too? (the measure numbers I gave are for the simfile currently in the beta category)
Also, I'm 99% sure most songs do not start at measure 5 or 9. Pluto Relinquish clearly starts early, as did Firefly, and many other songs I can't remember right now.

Yes, every song is different, obviously measure 5 has been a very common start point, and its not a bad choice to use for these files since we don't have any way to see measure bars in DDR AC games.

ok fixed... seems like i missed it last night. Dead

btw, if the first note start earlier than the first 4 measures, i think starting it in measure 2 would suffice to give a little space after the HERE WE GO animaton (like the case in Shining), even though i know it might consider it an unorthodox way since starting at measure 5 or 9 is very common (to avoid conflict in bg video offset for some songs).

I think the real issue here is that your theme is doing it wrong Tongue in DDR (X2), ready -> here we go actually means something with regards to the music/starting beats (and then when the screen cover shows up). In StepMania, I've never seen it be anything other than activated at an arbitrary time (which, imo, is doing it wrong).

On a different note, does anyone have the DVD/VOB for AAA's Hide-away? I made a bga from a random avi I found, but one less step of transcoding would obviously do wonders for both filesize and quality...

so, Hide-away.avi.avi: http://www.mediafire.com/?wwliqa0c8kc344i

Um, about the start measure issue. Are we still using DWI? Cause StepMania doesn't have a negative offset issue, not even for the song videos. So even if arrows start on measure 0 the program will push them all off the screen and apply the necessary space to give you ample time to see them before needing to step them. (e.g. if you make the music start on second 0.000 and steps start on second (minus) -15.000, StepMania will start the steps off screen and not begin the music until 15 seconds into the chart).

I don't know of a version of StepMania that doesn't account for this, if your theme changes that then you need a new theme. Tongue

One major reason why we should stop using DWI files is because DWI files have no support for BPM and pause changes. So i never submitted any dwi file in the category.

That's exactly my point, if you use SM files it doesn't matter what measure the steps start on. Bless you Mr. Silly, we could use more of you. Very Happy

P.S. Please don't forget to include the difficulty number in every chart enclosed in parentheses (like what Parodius does) so i won't have to search for them in the official database or in StepMania. Thnx for the submission Happy

I also like how neotheone submits the stepcharts, with only the updated or new chart being submitted and no other, it saves my time here Wink

Not sure how helpful this is, but someone got close enough to the end of Valkyrie Dimension to see the whole chart minus the ending of the last freeze.

The ending stream goes LDLD RDRD LDLD LULU RURU LU LDLD LUDR LDU(freeze). The freeze is at least a quarter note long.

Did anyone fix that valkyrie chart yet. Every file I've downloaded was off by about half a beat early. It's really annoying. Is there a good completed chart yet?
