If you're relatively new at stepping, this might actually be a great experience for you! Entering a simfile contest is a good way to get feedback on your files, and you may even pick up on a few techniques from the other simfiles you play. You don't really have anything to lose, so I say enter anyway.

I would also like to agree with Gameoson's response to 01angel. As someone who was new to the simfile scene when I joined 2015's Simfile Shuffle, I feel that having a high amount of exposure to simfile skeletons (that need to be filled with steps) and feedback has helped me exponentially to sharpen my skills in this area. In addition, this contest is excellent for taking music that you yourself may have an interest in stepping (to submit in simfile skeletons) and seeing how others might approach it.

^The quote refers to the backup pile, though, not the files for the main competition. Technically, you would be able to submit a skeleton to be used in a round of the competition and ignore the one you would receive, but I distinctly recall disapproval over this behavior on last week's thread, so I would not encourage it.

^ Yeah, if you're going to submit files and not participate, just submit your files to the backup pile. Enough people use vetoes that your file will probably get used at some point.

It has been, let's see, about 10 years since I last made a simfile?...I guess this is a good way as any to shake the step rust.

Send it to me or to Scarz. If it's close to the deadline (like <3 hours), better send it to me since Scarz has classes at that time.

I've put everyone who signed up in the category. I hope.
