I legitimately heard my Stepmania friend say that the Stepmania... fandom...? Whatever you call the people who release packs is responsible for keeping 4-panel dance games alive at all, that they're doing a better job than Asia...

Personally, I died to me after Supernova, when it started crapping out charts like Chaos and Healing-D-Vision, charts going off into 16ths to keep it synced with their terrible gimmicks and all.

Now it's just stupid artificial difficulties everywhere like annoying half spins, random jumps, annoying BPM ranges on boss songs and double steps.

DDR is dead to the general public. It's sad though because a solid reboot on PS4/XB1 could be pretty successful. Konami doesn't really have its crap together right now though.

Can't agree nor disagree honestly, it's changed a lot for the most part, last honest-to-goodness mix was X2.

It's quite dead in my area. Virtually all of the DDR cabinets are about an hour away from me, and they're almost exclusively Extreme machines.

...there is a REALLY quiet and good DDR X machine not too far from me though, and that's pretty cool

i think everyone here is forgetting about a little game called in the groove

(Yes I know it's based on stepmania but itg 2 made it tons better)

On a serious note though DDR is obviously overshadowed by other BEMANI because probably in Japan, people are now lazy to play DDR (i mean no interest to play DDR I guess)

I wish DJ YOSHITAKA would become DDR producer someday..
