I agree that guy is an idiot. As far as I can tell that it uses the SNES/N64 A/V cable, looks like it even supports S-Video, but as for power idk, a SNES AC plug perhaps. So if he happens to find those he might be able to test it.

But NO. He's afraid he would ruin the value of it.

It's a nice throwback, this sort of thing, it's like in school in the 90s where everyone was all "Oh, I've got the Nintendo 65, it's totally real, my Dad works for Nintendo but he's in a top-secret project so if you ask him he'll say no, but he definitely is!"

I'm more curious as to how he aquired this. If it's anything but "i was the one who stole it", doesn't your common sense lead you to believe it's a nonfunctional reproduction? You're seriously delusional if you actually think it's because there's no power cable.

Can't you just get a power adapter that you can adjust the voltages on?

Instead of for money and trying not to ruin the value of something, why not test it and learn from it. We could all learn about a piece of interesting history we don't know much about. If someone knows what their doing with voltages and things like that and finds a proper voltage there should be no harm done to the system.
