I wish that can be true.


What happened ever since the second great awakening is that Christian social justice warriors became the parents. They haven't been able to figure out why they keep giving birth to gay and bi kids ever since. They can't admit that their social justice notions are inaccurate to human nature. Then the big bad wolves started leading the kids of Chicken Little into a cave where they were eaten.

I find it funny how protestors are holding some signs that say "You Need Jesus," because I imagine if he came down to celebrate this precious moment, he would shake his head at them.

On Saturday; You are legally executed by being framed by a crazy homophobic hobo who, once finding out you are gay, places evidence that connects to you all over a recent murder, you're given the death penalty, and no objections are raised. You are never heard from again.

But seriously... This is pretty disgusting if 29 states can reduce you to a homeless person. I hope these "legal" discrimination licenses are put into the shredder soon. These homophobes want to discriminate, they should discriminate themselves for having the audacity to say "Ew, get away from me, you're homosexual!" for an irrational motive. THEY should be reduced to a homeless person. They're clearly doing something wrong. These innocent couples aren't.

Even still, these people need to ask the question; How would they feel if they were denied anything just because of their sexuality?

They could be the nicest people that could change the world and still be discriminated just because of something they can't control naturally. Now, if they acted like freaks, it would be justified. But their sexuality (or, even further, their race and gender) has NOTHING to do with it.

Also taking away a person's home does not "reduce" them as a person and it shouldn't be used as some sort of punishment. I think that's a very classist stance to take but that's a whole different ballpark.

The image says in addition to getting evicted, their child can't go to college, they aren't allowed any money, and they aren't allowed a job. The message here is practically "You will be kicked from society if you legally marry a same-gender person", unless something is done about this non-ideal convention.

I just think, IMO, that the majority of the people here in the US easily forget what our forefathers had written.

I'm not gay, but I think people could care less. Everyone has a right to love what they love. If other people look down on them for who or what they love, then those people should be ashamed. It's like the same thing with bronies. I don't care if they like My Little Pony or not. Does being gay or not actually matter? I'd say this is a victory for those people.

I just hope we don't borrow "saying you don't agree with gay marriage can get you prosecuted" and "Government can take your kids if they don't like what you teach them" from Canada. If so, supreme court just destroyed freedom of speech.

It's not that gay marriage was passed, but rather the hype and reasoning behind it. Just look at every page on the internet. I honestly have no problem for it if it means that gay people can get married and live happy lives together, but I think what most people have forgot was that it was about getting it passed and ensuring that gay couples can live the same style of lives as straight people. My question to everyone is: Was it really about gay marriage? Or is it all about the idea of "sticking it to 'the man'?" The man here being say... An imagined bogeyman opponent, in this case traditionalists/religious.

Now that we've seen the overwhelming response to it being passed, with everything on the internet being covered in rainbows and such, what next? Can we finally move on with our lives? Or is there something else that needs to be done ensuring that some sort of ulterior motive is fulfilled?

I'm glad this passed and all, but it certainly doesn't mean in the slightest that harassment or bullying or whatever is just gonna magically end for the LGBT people.

Also really sick and tired of this "oh ur religious u must hate gays" stereotype that seems really damn prevalent now.

It was about gay marriage and gay couples having the same rights/benefits as straight couples, that's all. No conspiracies here.


I think the better question is why are you so bothered by it?

A lot, actually. That's what chewi's picture "Legally married and legally fired" on the last page was talking about.

It's not gay marriage I'm bothered by, it's the mass sensationalist hype. It just shows that mass media and mass culture can shove literally anything into our faces because they have the means to back it up. I think mass media backing anything is a sure way to say good-bye to your freedom of speech. So let me retort by asking this:

Would you have a problem if a bunch of Muslims started massing in parades, Facebook integrating a star and crescent into people's photos option, and all the other hype if they declared Sharia Law a legitimate institution of justice here in the U.S.?

I just ignore mass sensationalist hype and let people and companies celebrate things that make them happy.

False comparison. Sharia law would infringe on my rights, gay marriage infringes on no one's right. No one is forcing you to be gay married.
