Well the today news:
Cleaned a bit the screen evaluation screens, also added header, footer and timerbg:
I've also removed the miss combo indicator.
Did you mean the vivid arrow this the marvelous stars?
For the arcade version?
-----------------
Well as a question, anyone knows if the ps2 version has the DDRX noteskin? And how to get/unlock it? (The note shown in the panels)
That's all for the moment there is still a lot of work to do, I need to test a lot of things to finish the actual screen what I am working on. So the updates will be fewer on the releases as I can understand the structure of things that I haven't found. Thanx for the support and stay tuned! ;)

I've actually got a noteskin that's really accurate to the DDR X noteskin if you want it. (By this I mean it's pretty much the exact same, even as far as the mines being Shock Arrows)

I can also record some gameplay of DDR X for you if it would help you with getting things like graphics, and the like.

As far as I know you have to just play/pass X number of songs to unlock things. I think going through street master mode MIGHT unlock things quicker though, but don't quote me on that as I haven't played that mode too much.I don't believe the game itself has that kind of a noteskin though, if it does I'm not sure WHAT it's called in there, but I can take a look at my save next time I get the chance to see if I might've unlocked something like it.

the arrow panels will be a classic, a DDR X or a 2013 style.

at least in the arcade, the noteskin is literally just called "X"

Like PinkiePieGamer said, the arrow is present in the arcade:
And the name is "X". There's no much informacion about DDRX unlocks, only songs, characters or courses, but not the noteskins. I am unlocking the game on the PS2, I have 64% but it still have not appeared. I'll try to get the 100% of the game to see if the X arrow appears. It would be a nice addition, cause the DDR X series are not present in consoles instead the PS2 versions.
There's no screenshots today but I'll be downloading the DDR2014 theme to study a pair of things that could be useful for the DDRX theme.

This theme looks very promising. To be honest, I really look forward to this coming out, I'm a little tired of my old DDR Max 2 theme i use, and always wanted a DDR X theme for Stepmania 5.

Wow so much activity this time About the default arrows, I've ported the Supernova arrows from takuya to SM5, is not the final public version, they are missing the shock arrows. But I've found two other noteskins, one of the noteskins have the shock effect when you step on the shock arrow:
And the other noteskin is the Reiaya version that has the marvelous star:
I'll be making a shock arrow template to customize the other arrows and make the shock versions of every arrow.
------
About the other DDRX/SN series Noteskins I've 25 arrows unlocked on my ps2, I'll list here to see if are missing more to complete the SN/DDRX series:
normal *
cyber
medium
kite
s-core *
dinosaur
planet
foot
angelfish
trumpet
s-base
g-base
emi
rage
pixel *
bird
bee
diamond *
vic viper *
tulip *
morning glory *
lotus *
knight *
tiny
small
The arrows with a (*) are already dumped. The others are still on the ps2 MC.
Sorry about the X noteskin not included in the ps2 version I was playing a lot of DDRX and there's no screenshoots this time but I got the ddr 2014 theme to check it out this week

I just made an X noteskin package for SM5 --> http://www.mediafire.com/download/pg2lw5hnjyzicdc/[SM5]X_Noteskins.zip
Note: You can't just select specific noteskin inside because they are dependent to each other. Not including X_vivid and others will not make other noteskins (flat, rainbow, and note) work.

Wow thanks razorblade how did you get it? Is custom made? Looks so nice thanx! I'll open the noteskins collection post soon ;) would be so nice to change the arrow style/color (flat, rainbow, and note) from the menu options like in the newest DDR games. Nice contribution Thank you so much.

I found an error in the X noteskin, fot repair open the Down Explosion.lua in folder X_Vivid and change
NOTESKIN:LoadActor( Var "Button", "Tap Explosion Dim" ) .. {
InitCommand=cmd(diffusealpha,0);
W5Command=NOTESKIN:GetMetricA("GhostArrowDim", "W5Command");
W4Command=NOTESKIN:GetMetricA("GhostArrowDim", "W4Command");
W3Command=NOTESKIN:GetMetricA("GhostArrowDim", "W3Command");
W2Command=NOTESKIN:GetMetricA("GhostArrowDim", "W2Command");
W1Command=NOTESKIN:GetMetricA("GhostArrowDim", "W1Command");
HeldCommand=NOTESKIN:GetMetricA("GhostArrowDim", "HeldCommand");
JudgmentCommand=cmd(finishtweening);
BrightCommand=cmd(visible,false); <- This for true
DimCommand=cmd(visible,true);

The bright command is actually for Marvelous and Held judgment, hence, it should always be invisible. Tap Explosion Dim is for Perfect to Good.

Yes but, the problem is that the brightness after 100 combos from perfect to good disappears very ugly.
Post #39 · Posted at 2015-05-08 06:23:43pm 9.5 years ago
Well, you should edit the theme metric's BrightGhostComboThreshold under [Player] to 99999, to always show the BrightGhost image. Default value was 100 so it doesn't show after 100 combos. It's not the noteskin issue.
