You could be, but it's unlikely we're gonna hear anything until Q3 2008, as unlocks on the SN2 AC don't finish until April if predictions are correct.

It's possibly the most unreliable source ever, but someone posted something quite interesting on Gaia in the DDR thread:

Severely downgraded! And it's about time Derby got a SuperNOVA, too. There's a new cinema opening in Westfield in the Spring, so I'd think that SN would be a very smart acquisition. Especially now, since that legistation...

I think the "Dancing Stage SuperNOVA2 (AC) Not To Be Released" legistation problem is just an excuse. Even if the legistation is for real, they should at least get the Upgrade kit for all those existing DS SN1 cabinet. Upgrade kit doesn't contain any mercury isn't it? Lol...

The question is how many existing SN1 cabinets are out there in Europe...

The problem exists with the hardware of the old-style PS2 itself, used because the arcade hardware uses the hard drive. Only problem is, due to the EU's Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) guidelines, the mere existence of the Slim PS2 invalidates the older one, as the newer device is technically the same hardware, only with fewer hazardous chemicals. As far as I understand RoHS, had the slim PS2 not been released, they still would've been okay with the old PS2 in Europe.

OK, I've managed to get some rough dates on the stuff today.

Next DDR/DS probably won't appear until late this year according to them and it's roughly keeping in schedule with the Japanese SuperNOVA2 as unlocks don't finish until (predicted) April time.

GuitarFreaks&DrumMania V4 Rock x Rock and e-AMUSEMENT are subject to the number of sales they get in the end so it still might not come out altogether; but the popularity at the ATEI of the machines was very high so arcade operators would be dumb not to get it! They are predicted to be both rolling out April-May 2008 if enough sales are met but hopefully they'll have an idea one or two weeks after the ATEI.

Heh, I hope not, I talked to the KONAMI's arcade manager and he said that they were getting annoyed that they're showing the machines but they're never getting released due to people just not buying them.

In this country, all they care about are bloody slot machines, coin pushers and fruit machines.

Interesting...Did you ask them if DS will have a different release then the US and JP DDRs? Or is Konami FINALLY going to PC for DDR?

Well, they kinda have to change the hardware in it to comply with EU standards, so I think they're really gonna change it to "something", nothing has been confirmed yet; just a new DS is coming out.
