I don't know if 2DXFTW is talking out of his ass or what but you can't use MAME to play DDR. System 573 hasn't been emulated for use in MAME yet because of the digital I/O giving developers problems coding/decoding how it is used. Its going to probably be a while before someone steps in and has it functioning 100% in MAME.
I am not looking for anything with Mame and DDR for sure. I tried downloading a few mame files for it and have never had any luck with getting them to run. I'm just thinking that someone taking their time to get it all to work in Stepmania as a theme will be than making it work on Mame.

it's a longshot but you could try contacting the poster on bemanistyle who makes the boards kon was referring to above (the minimaid). here's the thread about them: http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/showthread.php?301-Stepmania-and-oITG-adapter-for-your-DDR-Arcade-machine-Minimaid-USB-IO

as of early june he had sold all of the pre-ordered boards except for one, so you could ask him if that one is still available even though it's unlikely. otherwise it's possible that he might make more eventually but that won't help you in the near term.

where is the arcade where this machine will be located once you get it up and running?
For the lights I am thinking I will be getting those running a next summer since the arcade I will have this machine at closes in the winter. However, I will have to contact this person to if I can get one of these boards for later.

This machine will be at Playland Park in Flint, Michigan. There is a DDR 4th Mix Solo at this location so I am just adding a double machine to its line up.

DDR on MAME works... It's just... the songs are off-beat. Completely. So it isn't 100%
(DDR 1-3rd Only.)

Did not know that. I'll have to try a place that has one of those three mixes.

For anyone that has messed around with the J-PAC I am not sure if I am connecting this thing correctly. I have all of the software on my computer for it, and know how to connect it from there, but I am not sure how to which jamma to connect from the DDR side. I have three different boards I can connect(4). The one to the CPU, the one to the I/O board, same jamma wires to the CPU, or the one going into the I/O board from everything else. I am taking a guess to say that I should be using the ones from the I/O board. The problem I am facing is that all of the converting videos and guides vaguely say how to do it from an Extreme machine, not so much from the Python unit--at least the information/videos I am finding. This is the main part I am wondering about so someone may yell at me if I am doing this wrong, I am waiting for a response before plugging in my board to make sure I am doing this correct. I cut the wires to and from the coin counter(2), cut the wires coming from a side power supply (1) and then unplugged another power supply that all directly went into the jamma board including a 12V and 5V. I also unplugged a connector that says neon(3) since I don't think the J-PAC will not be able to send out light toggles. I am not sure if I should have done all that, however it's all things I can reattach and get going again easily. I know I need to cut out the coin counter for the J-PAC to not die, however I am not sure about everything else. After this point I should be good to go on this machine.

Thank you~

"OMG KON!"
Holy shit why does that Korean cabinet have a Python 2 running it in?

Anyways I am confused on what you are trying to do... To hook everything up to the J-Pac is simple, unplug the Jamma blade for the EXT-I/O and plug it into the J-Pac. No need to cut wires or anything else.

I would have no clue. All I know is that the machine was once at a Kalahari location, there is a ticket from that place in the machine. Also, it was owned by Family Entertainment Group in Barrington, Illinois; due to the QR code stickers left around the machine.

I just heard from a few places that one would need to cut certain wires to make sure that the J-PAC would not overload and die. I reattached all of the wires minus the coin counter, which I have heard from more than one place that I need to cut for the J-PAC. I ended up plugging in the Jamma blade that went into the Python 2. After I plugged everything in it looks like everything works on the machine and I am good to go with it. I plugged in my headphone to RCA wire and now I am getting sound. I need to work out the kinks since I am getting double tapping from certain sensors like the player 2 start, and I am having to double tap for the player 1 start, however that's all thinks I need to mess with in the Winpac software. All of the lights are going to be on until I get that other board, but I am going to have the machine in a dark area so it should be okay~

Thank you guys!
