HYPER MASTER MODE chronicles...

Yeah Dynamite Rave was one of the few I managed to unlock aha, that's so bad! I'm glad I know not but wow.

And I'm currently running through Street Master Mode myself and whilst the concept is completely insane (guy wants to sell octopus pancakes; RESULTS IN DANCING 11+ TIMES) and there's a lot of playing around on Basic/Difficult, when the Expert missions start appearing I have started to enjoy myself. But man, the boss songs are really tucked away..

EDIT: Obviously I expected them to be deep within the mode but I'm almost finished and I've still yet to see Pluto, PR, Saber Wing Akira Mix, on the bounce, hell even On The Break isn't unlocked yet. Not to mention there's still some songs like Uranus tucked away.

Whose story are you on right now? The bosses don't get unlocked until you get to (and someone else correct me if I'm wrong) Jenny's story, IIRC.

Those songs are way, WAY deep within the game. If I'm correct, 3/4 of those songs listed are in the Disco story alone. Then again, I haven't played X in a while, so clarification is needed.

Well I've actually just finished Jenny's and Julio's and I think the only unlocks I got were Xmix 4. I got Trigger from female-Disco-whose-name-is-escaping-me.

Very frustrating, I've been at this 2 days now! And I keep thinking I may have missed an unlock by not playing the basic missions, just the advanced ones, any ideas if that happens?

I don't think basic vs. advanced matters.
Yes, come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the majority of bosses don't come until Disco, which is the last part of the mode. (Saber Wing Headshot and Pluto Relinquish don't come until the very last mission!)

Now I'm remembering some mission where you had to FC Sound of Freedom or Sunkiss Drop . I remember getting a pad good on the same step at least twice attempting SoF.

Ahh good. If I ever noticed a song was available on Basic that I hadn't yet unlocked I was trying them anyway but yeah to no avail. On The Break was one of the very first missions in Emi's storyline and I got excited thinking I'd get it that early but no aha!

I was afraid of that, I know I've got a few solid hours to go aha, oh well. What's worse is I thought after unlocking Horatio and Trigger the ES/EES would change so I could at least play something else early that way but nope!

Since we're on the topic of Street Master Mode and unlocks, I find it odd that people still believe that by playing through Basic missions of a story gets you one costume, and playing through Advanced missions of the same story gets you another.

I'm pretty positive (meaning that I've done enough tests on this and can say that it's true) that you'll get one costume by just beating the story of that person (doesn't matter which difficulty it is on), and by completing ALL of the missions for that person's story (Basic AND Advanced), it will unlock the other costume.

Really? I never knew that doing every mission in a given story was actually worth something.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that it does matter, because in order to unlock something-or-other you need to have completed every single mission on both basic and advanced in everybody's story... yeesh.

What is this something you speak of? Not saying I doubt you, just that I've never bothered to do every mission.

Other than unlocking characters, songs, and getting towards 100% completion in Information, there's nothing worth playing it for.

At any rate, I still managed to unlock all the stories while only having done about 60% of the game's missions. I'm not sure what else there would be to unlock after all the songs, courses and all the character's alternate costumes.

I think you can unlock courses in the game by playing other courses. But, PFFT, I've only played about 3 courses in total on that game. I'd rather play through DDRMAX's courses.

I really want to play EXTREME all the way through but the goddamn Dance Play Settings omission renders the whole mix unplayable to me :/

In Street Master Mode (DDR X JP) I think that songs in the last mission (disco vs disco) changes pluto relinquist to Paranoia MAX dirty mix (smm Special). Sorry I never saw how is SMM in DDR X JP .

I'd expect so, it IS an 18 after all. If an 18 wasn't the final boss of any mix's mission mode I'd be surprised and annoyed at the unrealistic expectations of a LOT of their players. NGO SN2
