The banner to me feels kinda busy. The first thing I set my eyes on are the buildings in the background, rather than the text. I really like the banner, but maybe the "Summer Contest" text should of been yellow, and the buildings a darker color, so the text would stand out more. But then the "Sum" text would clash with the yellow signs. Wouldn't you rather have people read the title text more-so than view the yellow buildings?

I've taken a class on computer graphics before, so I kind of know what to expect when designing banners. But i'm no professional at graphics making. Chewi and Lord Toon would blow me out of the water. I'm a Paint.NET user, since I find Photoshop to be complicated and sometimes clunky to use. I like busy art as well, as opposed to clean and minimalistic.

And based off the banner, I assume it's going to be urban themed, ala DDR X?

Okay, I won't derail the thread anymore. Back on topic.

This kind of makes me wonder... what if, instead of having themed week like "DDR Artists" or "Video Games", we'd have instead overarching themes like "Urban Week" or "Dubstep Week" or "Country We"--*vomits*

It's possible, but usually one-genre themes like those suffer from the fact that it's hard to fairly review a dozen or two dubstep sims in a row. You just get tired after a while, you know? Whereas themes that are less about music choice, such as "The Letter S" or "90's Week", afford more variety.
