If/when they confirm it, do bring your plaque just to rub it in.

I'm seriously contemplating traveling to SoCal next year for a road trip and stop in to Bakersfield just to say "hi" and maybe a "u mad bro?!"
Why bother with acknowledging her? Keep your dignity. As for that Alexi guy, yeah, there's something seriously weird about the machine in the picture on the article. it looks like a pair of soft pads placed on top of a platform with a built in bar. Even if they're not soft pads, it's definitely not an arcade pad pair, you can tell by the ~10-11 inches between the pads. The cabinet looks like a DDR cabinet, but there's no telling what's inside.
If that's actually what he set the record on, and Guinness accepts it, then it should mean future attempts don't have to be on an official Konami made cabinet.

It actually looks like a PIU DX cab where the Wii is hooked through the monitor and sound system with the Wii pad placed on top of the PIU pad.
Actually going to Bakersfield just to troll her is all tongue and cheek. I DO want to go to SoCal, but not just to see her rage quit an arcade.

I seriously want to tell her (or comment on something related) "cool story, bro."

Oh! I just have checked this on Peruvian TV again. That setup(PIU DX cab+ DDR II sofrware) just doesn't look cool to me.

There is another DDR record, too, but it is for the youngest person to AAA a song (Hyper Eurobeat Maniac). I know Ryota because his father used to post on AIJ when Ryota was 6 years old and comboing songs like Afronova (Basic I think). This might have been in a previous Guinness book but this is the first time it appeared in the Japanese one.
(I can translate all this later if need be but there isn't much to add other then he did this on DDR Extreme JP CS. He did this in a standard Konami soft mat (possible the Konami DX mat since this is Japan)
That Venom mini-controller mentioned in the circle is what Ryota used to practice to get the rhythms down (presumably). It is a 4" x 4.5" mini controller. The actual record was done on pad, I must reiterate.

That's him.
I'll see if I can dig up his father's site. He kept a diary and archives of his accomplishments.

@Daiz: Is there anywhere we can see the entire 40 hours of your record uploaded somewhere?
