Battle: A mode in DDR and Stepmania where your opponent is attacked with mods when you do well.

This mode first appeared in one of the Disney titles (I believe the N64 one) as "Dance Magic Mode".

What about patterns like in Afronova Primeval or a plethora of others in modern mixes that follow a pattern like:

LDRUL (starting on right foor) or RDLUR (starting on left foot)

Also, for amusement, you could also mention these types of steps are called "Biji Steps" in Japan and it stems from the song "Strictly Business" (business = bijinesu) where they were first used.
