Importance of full difficulties in simfiles

Stepfiles without a full set of difficulties will forever be incomplete. I usually delete them from StepMania unless they're MAX2-style Challenge remixes.

I'm not so fussed about beginner but I play easier difficulties on my phone and touchscreen is way too rubbish to attempt anything over (what used to be known as) an 8 footer.

It's not about that, though. If you're going to make files you should complete them, otherwise it's like some sort of weird Tournamix 1 throwback.

It's like getting in the shower and only washing the bits people can see. ;)

Guys, is unnecessary. Most of the in the games are god-awful. Most beginning players, after a couple of rounds, can at least play a 3-4 X-Scale chart, so I would say that a few 1-2 rated charts are more useful than a couple hundred 1-2 rated charts, with a few bullshit 3s and 4s interspersed. This is why I've stopped including beginner. I have have to bullshit a chart to make my file "complete", the why make it in the first place?

I prefer it just because it gives it more of a "complete" feel and look.

Back in the O2Jam days, a lot of people charted the hard difficulty only for many songs, because that's the only difficulty most people cared for.

BMS/BME files (beatmaniaIIDX simfiles) are usually more complete, although there are some single-difficulty songs from time to time.

The truth is that most players who look for custom simfiles (at least in the two keyboard games i've mentioned) are looking for challenges, because there are plenty of easier official charts, but as the difficulty goes up, they get more scarce. This said, I still like to release at least 3 difficulties for each chart (although sometimes the easier difficulty setting is a little forced).
