Easiest songs by rating

I'm pretty sure it was only a 9 in 7th Mix, and it was a glitch where it had the same ratings and groove radar as Burning Heat, kinda like how Mind Parasite had the ratings and groove radar of Monkey Punk on SN1.

You're right, I just looked it up. I had not ever heard about it getting the stats from Burning Heat ! though.

SAKURA has a few decent voltage sections, along with the precise-sequence slowdowns, and THAT ONE FREAKING SLOW ARROW. (C-C-C-Combo Breaker!!)

Uranus has one particularly tricky sequence of 7 half-beat jumps. Yes, that's really the justification.

bag has a little bit of sequencial trickery to it, and it's not hard NOW because people have played it for 7 years and counting, but you couldn't rely on arrow-discoloration to determine it's stepping sequence, especially on lower speeds.

The only thing tricky about OUTER LIMITS is beginning it's full-beat streams in the unintuitive direction. (IE: Up-Right combos start with left foot on right, and right foot on up.) Even the 1/8 streams aren't that hard in it.

Sakura, Uranus, and bag still don't seem to be 10s to me, even with those tricky parts... Maybe as high 9s (Like 14s on X-scale) but not 10s/15s.

Not disagreeing with that, at all. I'm just saying, I find OUTER LIMITS even easier.

Minor sequencing issues aside (coughMostX-SpecialsSuckcough), I find that:

380+ steps = 12 <-bag actually goes HERE, if not for the discoloration stuff.
420+ steps = 13 <-SAKURA and Uranus, IIRC, fall firmly here.
480+ steps = 14 <-more like SO DEEP/Healing Vision -Angelic Mix- territory, can see CHAOS/Pluto's deceptiveness going here.
540+ steps = 15
600+ steps = 16 <-MAXX UNLIMITED is standard "barrier of entry" here.

I don't think number of steps matter. Konami has it right.

PARANOiA Hades should be a 16, though.

VD would have been a 17. But the most you could read is on 2x if you can handle the end, as, unlike bag, you can't do much about how bunched up the notes are.

Really, I re-rated all my DDR songs on a 1-15 scale based on their stepcount (nearly) alone; and re-enabled the "PREFERRED" sorting option (that's what SM calls the old-school default sorting used in mixes like 1st-5th); and strangely enough, it doesn't deviate too much from the official tracklist orderings, save for sectioning like EXTREME's (original/revival/BEMANI/boss).

I dunno if the Uranus beta chart is still on this site somewhere or somebody has it on their PC. The original beta chart had an 8th run at 300+ BPM at the end and the chart was very jumpy (70+). It would still be an easy 10 though but is more difficult than the current oni chart. I have the chart with the current BPMs as an edit but not the sped up one.

You have no idea what you're talking about, sir. Max 300 light is closer to a mid-7 than a 6, and Paranoia Evolution is almost on par with Rebirth for difficulty.

Easiest 6: Senses (or Senses -kaiju mix- if that's your thing)

Easiest X-Scale:

18: Trigger (now that LOM X-Special is a 17)
17: New Decade
16: On The Bounce (I have slightly more trouble with this then Baby Seal, which is an ITG 9)
15: Xepher

Trigger's simpler than Possession. Bloody shins after triplet jumps reporting in.
Hell, even Pluto Relinquish is easier than Possession if you know the chart. But I'd have to say that the easiest one is probably Trigger, yeah. Just bump every difficulty level down a level or two Konami, it's not that hard.

But Trigger doesn't have a 17

Easiest 17 is ΔMax. Should really be a 16 IMO.

Actually, Rayword has a point. When it comes to just trying to survive a song, New Decade would probably be the easiest 17 to newcomers. No major spikes in difficulty after the beginning, just a pain in the ass to get a good score on. DeltaTriangleMaxTacular and Possession are definitely easier to AA though, DMax via its gimmicks and Possession from its straightforwardness.

Trigger's the easiest 18 again for survival, not sure about scoring (I find VDim the most scorable of the 18s but I don't usually play those for score anyway, more just for the thrill of passing).

Easiest 8- Senorita (Speedy Mix)
Love the song, its way up there with stuff like POSSESSION in terms of liking it, and the chart is really fun, but its not an 8
